Great lead
Used mainly for sketching and calligraphy, I love how small the .03 is and allows me to make extremely fine details

I wish that I were writing this review with these leads!
Pentel Ain Stein Mechanical Pencil Lead, 0.3mmOK, so I prefer to write w poly leads and mech pencils rather than wood pencils...mostly.I have been using Pentel HB leads, and was marginally OK with them - BECAUSE I use 0.3 mm, and that is simply more fragile than 0.5 mm by a big margin. I saw some reviews of this lead and some other newer lead compositions, and figured for a few bucks, why not give them a shot?These leads REALLY are smoother, blacker, and stronger than my former HB leads.I had quite a bit of writing to do today - equations, mostly, and the start and stop of the writing in the equations often (grin) lead to lead breakage - so I tried this lead in 3 pencils: a Uni Kuru Toga, a Staedler regulator, and my favorite, a rotring Tikky II 0.35. Not one glitch in 3 pages covered in equations. Very sharp lines, and dark. Much improved viewing. The crowning glory are the Tikky I & II. I really like these pencils...been using for, oh, I dunno, a few decades. Can't get them any more. The smoothness is noticeable to anyone who writes regularly. I'm fine with the reduced feedback, with the blacker images and stronger lead. I am grateful that these lead companies continue to develop this technology. Now what to do with several boxes of

Good Deal
Was looking for lead for my 0.3 Pencil and this is a great deal for the price. A lot of uncommon lead sizes are hard to find for a decent price. This one is great

The lead is great… the case is not.
First I want to just say I love this lead. It works great in my Pentel orenz nero and deserves 5 stars. I am a college student that goes through a lot of lead and this is my clear favorite. The case however is super annoying. There are only 15 pieces in each case leaving tons of empty space and the opening for the lead is tiny! Lead just wants to stay trapped inside. As much as I love the lead itself I don’t think I’ll be buying it again until I can get it in something better.

Fits perfect!
I had to replace the other lead refills that I had ordered because they didn't fit, even though the packaging stated that it would fit my Pentel Graphgear 1000. This lead not only fit perfectly, but it is a very nice lead. It doesn't smudge as much as I'm used to with mechanical pencil leads so it is perfect for my zentangle drawings.
