Potty Time with Bean (Ms. Rachel) (Books by Ms. Rachel) Board book – January 7, 2025

This was the game changer. I tried the 3 day method and I think of the potty training materials that I used to reinforce what I was telling him, us reading this book and a YouTube video where it is read aloud repeated numerous times really spoke to him. He was excited to read the book and then that excitement transferred to practicing. You will need a little potty though so he/she can emulate what happens in the book (the 3day method encourages avoiding little potties and using a toilet seat instead). If you want to try the 3-day method too I also recommend that book and combining some of the tips and suggestions there with Ms. Rachel’s book.

Potty Time with Bean has quickly become a favorite in our house! My toddler absolutely adores Bean — the friendly, cheerful character makes potty training feel like a fun adventure rather than a chore. The story is simple, reassuring, and just the right length to keep little ones engaged.What I love most is how it normalizes the potty process without pressure. Bean’s encouraging tone and positive attitude really helped my child feel more confident about trying the potty on their own. The illustrations are adorable, colorful, and full of little details that make rereading enjoyable for both of us.If you’re starting potty training and looking for a gentle, upbeat way to introduce the concept, this book is a must-have. Highly recommended!

My daughter loves this book and insisted on keeping it next to her potty. It really helped with potty training and we still sing the hand washing song. The book breaks down the steps in a way a toddler can understand. Definitely the best potty book we've read and we've read a lot.

We love the book. So much so we got Bean Bear and his potty to play along!My only issue is we don’t use a kid potty we just use the big potty so we skip the parts about dumping waste in the potty. But this seems to be the case with a lot of potty books.

This book is amazing!!! Got it for my 19mo old while we are doing elimination communication. If you're on the fence, just buy it! I love that it has a hand washing song in it!

If your toddler loves Ms. Rachel, this book will be an instant hit. It follows the same engaging, interactive style that makes her videos so effective for young kids. The illustrations are bright, the language is simple, and the routine-based structure makes it a great tool for teaching bathroom independence.However, one thing I wish it included was wiping as a step in the potty process. My toddler, who is usually very receptive to books reinforcing daily routines, flat-out refused to acknowledge wiping as necessary simply because it wasn’t in the book. I had to supplement with reminders every time, which was frustrating.That said, the handwashing song in the book is fantastic. We use it every single time, and it has made handwashing much more fun and automatic in our house. If your little one responds well to music and repetition, this book will definitely help reinforce good bathroom habits. Just be ready to add in the wiping step yourself if your toddler takes Ms. Rachel as the final word on how things should be done.

Very informative and engaging book for children learning to potty train. The book does center around a character who is using a child size potty, so that may be something to take into consideration if you are using it to potty train on a regular toilet.
