*update* !! The mug still works awesome and I’m super happy with it…PLUS…I discovered that my yeti travel cover fits in it!!! This extends the 80 mins of heat to MOST OF THE DAY (at 120F) if you can get ahold of a travel lid then you’ll love it even more!!!I tried out Ember, Nextmug and a coffee cup warmer. I chose Ember and here's why:(For context I am a busy mom and I drink one cup of coffee per day. I tend to sip on that cup all morning long. I like to bring it around the house with me, often settling in one area for long periods (like to do a craft or do computer).I chose the Ember mug and here's why not the others:1) The warmer- I couldn't bring the mug around the house with me, it had to always stay on the warmer. Also, as I drank the coffee down, it got hotter and hotter (less to heat). I had to keep turning the warmer down. Twice I forgot I left the warmer on and left the house and it stayed on all day. The warmer was also very hard to clean if you got a ring on it because it gets baked on. Literally I could not get the ring stain off. Lastly, the coffee tastes super gross after a few hours. Not sure why...but the heat from the bottom does something to it.2) Nextmug - I didn't like the shape of the mug. It looks deep but actually half of the mug is the heating element so it's not deep. Mine kept shutting off randomly, like within 10 mins of setting it, maybe it was defective? It also seemed to get hotter as the liquid became less like the warmer did.3) Ember - immediately I could see the temp on the app as soon as the liquid hit the cup, which I thought was NEAT! It turns its self on automatically when the coffee is put in it and goes to the last setting you set it at. It keeps it at that exact temperature regardless of how much is left in the cup (yay!). Thus it never overheats the coffee and the coffee stays delicious. I can take it all around the house and it is sturdy, looks cool and is nice and deep. It does shut off a lot sooner (from inactivity) than others, BUT it heats back up again surprisingly quick, so I'll take it.Others have voiced connectivity issues. I have an iphone14 pro and it hasn't had any trouble yet, but I just got it.For the record I was hoping I could control it via the app even when I wasn't home (like turn it on and off remotely) but it doesn't work that way. Since it's bluetooth and not wifi controlled you have to be near it for it to work.Good luck friends!

I rarely do reviews, but HAD TO on this mug. Simply amazing & light years ahead of the competition. I tried my fiancés 10 oz Ember first, then shopped for myself for a 14oz. Tried several and sent them back because the Ember 2 Mugs exceed expectations & all others are…meh!! Buy an Ember, it’s all you could ask for & then some!!

Barely lasted a year before the dreaded yellow/green/red flashing light started and stuck at 6% charge and won’t charge past that. There is nothing the customer can do to get it to work and Ember won’t do anything either- this is my second mug with issues. The first ceramic Ember mug I received as a gift started to flake on the bottom of the mug so I purchased this gray one thinking it was a fluke. There are tons of complaints about this flashing issue and the flaking. I would stay away from Ember . I switched to nextmug and now I don’t need an app, simple 3 settings and about 50.00 cheaper.

I got one for Christmas and gifted my sister this one after telling her about mine. It keeps the coffee hot for 35-45 min . It recharges in a base but Bluetooth’s to your phone if you like. Outside doesn’t get hot. Yet the coffee is steaming. One of my favorite gifts . I got the 7 ox, which is a little small for Keurig so I got my sister the 10 oz it’s perfect . Get the larger one

Great for early mornings on the chair

I am a woman of, ahem, a certain age where I have the attention span of a gnat. I will start drinking my coffee and then get distracted by having to do something and come back 10 minutes later to lukewarm or cold coffee. The Ember mug does a great job at keeping my coffee warm and I'm delighted. As far as temperature control, it is exactly what it says it is and I love it. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that I wish it held 16 oz in mug form and more importantly, I wish the handle was thicker and more comfortable. The mug is a bit heavy because of the electronics and it's a thin handle so it's not exactly comfortable. Despite this, I am keeping the mug because I am deeply enjoying having warm coffee again.

I’ve had this 14oz mug for about a month. Several family members have the Ember mug and all have positive things to say. They are each avid coffee/tea drinkers and have owned their Ember mugs for over a year.Having hot liquid stay hot is a game changer for me. Setup is super simple through the app.My only complaint would be that I would like the mug to go to 160 degrees - I like my food and drinks really hot.I had gotten the Ember mug while visiting relatives out of state. When I returned home after the holidays, I wanted a second mug for my wife. The deal that I got on the Ember at Xmas was no longer available, so I ordered a competitors mug (NextMug). I wondered about 2 things that were different about the NextMug vs. the Ember. The NextMug doesn’t need an app to set up and it is advertised as keeping liquid at 155 degrees, which appealed to me.I received the NextMug and used it a few days. The fact that it has buttons on the side of the mug v. using no app did not enhance my experience. The advertised increased temperature of the NextMug did not materialize. In fact, the NextMug failed to hold a warm temperature consistently. After several days, I returned the NextMug and ordered another Ember mug to replace it. The new Ember mug has worked just like the 1st one and now wife and I each have our own. I also ordered a second charging tray for the Ember mug so that it charges at my preferred coffee chair in our home.Overall, very happy with the Ember experience.
