A nice addition to a Workstation
This is a very versatile CD drive. I have been looking for one for quite some time because the computer that I use at work does not have a drive and I needed one. It is working great and I love the easy connection with the USB connection. The only downside that I would say about the drive itself is that the USB cord that comes with it is quite small so the drive has to stay very close to the computer. Thus, if you don't have a lot of space it may be difficult. Other than that I like that the USB is connected right into the device itself and does not take up a lot of space and there is no chords or anything else that you have to worry about because it's all self-contained. All in all this is worked very well and I have been very impressed. I would have given it 5 Stars at the cord was a little bit longer but otherwise it is been working perfectly.

DVD video reader
Working as a wedding videographer, burning and reading CD on the go is a basic requirement for the job. I would often have to travel to other states for wedding cinematography. Many of the clients I have would often time want the video film available immediately without editing. It is especially useful for me as I’m using MacBook air which doesn’t include a disk drive. This CD drive comes in a small form factor which makes it extremely for to carry around and it is lightweight. Most external drive require an external power source. This drive, however, only require a USB port from the computer to read, write and power the drive. This drive also has a fast read and write speed which can match the internal disk drive I have on my desktop. Overall, this portable disk drive is excellent to be carried around and especially more prevalent for those who need to burn a disk on the go.

Outstanding CD/DVD Drive well worth purchasing
Received CD/DVD drive Sunday 6 PM, plugged it into my Mac Mini and 6:05 PM I had already installed an external program. Was very impressed with the ease of installation, just plugged in to my USB 3 port and bingo, all done. I played a music cd with no difficulty. I burned the same music CD and it was copied very fast with realistic reproduction. Tried it on my wife’s windows computer and was surprised on how fast it was recognized, worked flawless. I am very impressed and happy that I was fortunate enough to buy this item

Very easy to set up and worked right out of the box
The whole USB-C only thing with new Macs is a real pain, but this machine worked on both USB-C and standard USB right out of the box! The only thing I don't like is the that the cord, which is neatly contained under the device for storage, has a tendency to pop out of the slot it goes into when using the device, and this causes it to not "sit flat". I think this will get better over time, but remains to be seen if this will be a problem for the wear and tear on the cord.

Good product
my laptop don’t have an CD drive .i am looking for one drive . This product is very easy to use . I just plugged into the usb ,The external CD drive works great . I can copy music for my laptop and watch movie also you can install some online software on the new computer ,so far so good. With this CD drive, it really comes in handy. Good material quality!

It is not apple drive's competitor, but at a fraction of the cost it delivers.
I like that disk is manually loaded, will not be stuck inside if a failure. Neat cable park when not in use. It works, but not a speed competitor to apple's drive. It never reaches 5x speed, apple runs many time faster in copying disk to the computer.Buy it if you are not speed-of-transfer sensitive, it has good features and a great price.

Worked for first month then died
The device worked for 1 month and now it starts and when I try to read CD's (not even movies or big files) it stops working and slows the computer to a crawl. When I unplug the USB the computer works great so it is not a computer issue. Would have loved to use it but it is not worth it.
