My daughter (12 yrs old) enjoyed this product, but after 10-15 minutes she had made most of the necklaces and bracelets and the activity was done. Some of the parts (specifically the loops and fasteners) were very small and even with patience neither she nor I could attach them. But, the pendants were of descent quality and the chains appear to be able to stand some wear and tear. It did come in a nice box, so it could be a good gift to give for a birthday to someone else. However, if you are looking for a good art project for your kid on a rainy day, be prepared for this one to only last a brief time.

I like this kit. The charms are tiny, and I'm not sure I'd give away any of the items I'll make as gifts.But I'm buying jewelry kits now to teach myself new things - cording, braiding, metalworking, etc. - and this one has its place.Price is good. Adequate instructions. I'm pleased!

I bought this for my daughter and she’s had lots of fun making jewelry for herself and her friends. I do have an issue with some items being shown in the booklet, but not being included in the kit.I’d like it if there were more chains and connecting options.My daughter isn’t complaining, so neither am I. :-)

There are a lot of components to this kit. Packaging states that you can design 10 pieces of jewelry but there was enough stuff for my daughter to make 13 jewelry pieces. Illustrated instructions are given for how to make 5 designs. Jewelry making is my tween daughter's favorite hobby so she enjoyed designing and making the pieces herself. There is a mix of chains, cording, and thread to work with plus metal charms, jump rings, lobster clasps, crimping beads, beads and a mini pair of pliers. All you need is a ruler, scissors and some craft glue.This kit can be done simply and quickly by just attaching a metal charm to cord or you can get really creative with it. My daughter made made some necklaces by making a 3 strand braid, adding beads and attaching a metal charm to it. I do think this kit is better suited to older kids because of the skill needed to use crimping beads, attaching jump rings and clasps, etc. You do get a lot of beads but of only three types : silver bicone beads, gold bicone beads and white faceted beads. A bigger variety of beads would have been a nice addition to this kit.

For starters, I'd say that someone who isn't good with teeny tiny parts, or doesn't have a lot of patience might consider choosing another product. I saw another review saying that their daughter finished most of the jewelry in about 15 minutes, which I don't think is true at all. There are a lot of steps to make some of the jewelry, like twisting wire into loops to make a beaded chain link. That alone takes about 15 minutes. I like this product because the jewelry is actually very fashionable, not at all bad. The downside is that there wasn't enough chain to make the last two pieces of jewelry, and I also ran out of wire while doing one necklace. I looked on the box and emailed the company. They happily agreed to send me a new one free of charge if I sent them their requested information. I got to finish the last pieces of jewelry and also make some extras! I would recommend this product!
