One of the BETTER purchases I have ever made, PERIOD
if you are a hobby welder, this thing is a god-send. I guess the more experienced guys can pick it apart for this and that, but I went from an auto-darkening 2x3" window type thing to this-- and with the added sensors and size and the way it works, it's like I have never had a good helmet before. I can even weld better, because the sensors darken the helmet at all welding angles. My old helmet would blind me half the time if the gun was blocking the sensor, but I could still see the arc. It was horrible. My beads improved SO much, due to being able to see what the heck I am doing.

Excellent product!
My old auto-dimming helmet is about 15 years old, and I was truly amazed at how switching to this helmet changed my welding experience. The "large" window is actually LARGE, and the auto-dimming works perfectly. I had to install "cheater lenses" in my old helmet because the field of view was so small that I couldn't see through the bottoms of my progressive glasses ... but the size of this viewing area is big enough so that I can easily use the full range of my glasses while welding. When there is no arc, the view is spectacularly clear, and this helps immensely when tack welding. If you are struggling with an old helmet, don't wait to replace it. This is the best $100 I've spent on tools in a long while.

Good deal for the money.
For the cost and viewing size, this helmet was my second choice, but my first choice wasn't available. The large viewing size, the grinding mode and the dual setting for shade levels were things that were appealing. It works well. I didn't find a problem so much with the headband, as the pivot point that keeps the hood up.It doesn't hold the hood up very well when it is flipped up. Any movement and the hood starts to drop down.Which really isn't too much of a problem, but could be improved. The large viewing area is great, especially for older eyes. All of the setting have really tiny imprinting that indicates what they are, so it makes it very difficult to see which button/switch does what. Not a deal breaker, but kind of aggravating. The plastic is pretty flimsy. Time will tell how well it holds up to daily use, but it hasn't cracked yet, so that is probably a good thing. The range of the shade levels is great for when you are MIG/TIG welding to stick welding. But again, it's hard to see the numbering on the shade dial. For the money, it's a great deal.

Good price, nice helmet
Work great, fast response. I like the wide range of shade settings available, great for low current TIG and still can be dark enough for high current welding. My last helmet was 9 to 14, 9 was just a bit dark for some of what I was doing, no longer a problem. The other thing I like is the large view port. Last helmet was much smaller. Never thought it was an issue until I tried this helmet. The extra view really nice to have. This helmet requires batteries to work, the last one I had did not. It fails dark ( according to the manual ) which is good, unless it dies while doing a weld ....Pleased with the purchase

Large viewing area very helpful, lightweight
The large viewing area is helpful for me because of the bifocals I wear. It's light weight and it's comfortable. It's a bit hard to read the numbers on the adjustment knob for shade and sensitivity. Although it has 4 sensors, they're all along the bottom of the viewing area, so if they get obscured you can get arc flashed. It would be better if two of the sensors were above the viewing area and two were below. The adjustment knobs on each side of the helmet don't stay tight very well, so I have to keep adjusting them to keep helmet up. Overall for the price it was a great buy.

Giant lens. Works as expected.
Well I went to this from a standard hood, so you know I'm gonna be blown away. It's a tiny bit flimsy, but it works great. For the money, fpr a weekend warrior like me, it compares VERY WELL to the name brand hoods. I have 14hours on it so far. My buddy who is a real welder thought it was a decent tool, and was impressed with the giant field of view. The autodark is obviously wonderful, but I'm equally impressed with the size of the lens. I am REALLY happy I bought this.

Good quality helmet
I am new to flux core mig welding and ordered this. Works great. I make sure to test battery using the button on the inside of the helmet just to make sure it is working prior to welding. Controls are easy to understand and use. I only flashed my eyes once....funny...my fault for not putting the hood down. I like the quality and works as advertised for my project welding.

The whole window that shows in the picture has welding vision.
I find it hard to believe the difference! I can see what I'm doing. And it's incredible just how fast it switches! WOW!I wish I'd had one of these thirty years ago. I don't like to "weld" in the first place, but this welding hood makes a big difference!NO MORE nodding my head, messing with getting it to flop down to the right place, looking thru a little peep window trying to getmy "bi-focals" and the peep hole to line up. The whole window that shows in the picture has welding vision.
