Perfect for small thick concrete jobs or digging holes for trees.
This is a brushed motor. The hammer is heavy, cheap metal, I would be hesitant to drop. The housing and cooling fins for the motor are plastic and not going to help cool the motor. The three prong cord is fake. There is no grounding wire. I followed the advice of a prior post and replaced the power cord with 12 gauge and grounded to the case. There is plenty of space in the handle to accommodate these modifications, which is nice. The case is super cheap, I beefed up the wheels by roughing up the plastic and then adding some Bondo around the base (it is heavy enough I don't want to carry it around). I bought this hammer for the occasional small concrete project that needs some real power that a small air hammer would not do fast enough. If I was going to use this for continued heavy duty use, I would want a metal housing with metal cooling fins around the motor. There is a fan above the motor which blows air out the plastic vents. I really bought this for digging holes for 5 to 7 gallon plants. For this purpose, this is worth every penny. I can dig a 30 inch diameter hole 3 feet deep in heavy soil in half an hour using the spade blade. This is soil that a firm shovel will only penetrate about 1.5 inches per strike. I dug 8 to 10 inches per layer and had to lift the hammer about 25 times to dig the 3 foot hole 3 feet deep.I have had the tool for one year now. Very happy with price vs value. I did some demo work on a concrete wall with rebar. I was done much faster than I expected. The rebar was not as much of a factor as I thought it would be.

Jack hammer beast can bust up concrete.
First impression is this is a step up from the typical Chinese "kit of parts" tool. This tool is heavy and it works great. Remember to fill with 40W motor oil to 1/2 the sight gauge, standing up vertical, B4 use! I only have an hour on the tool at this point, and a lot of busted up concrete. I have not used a main brand tool, so I have no reference as to what a jack hammer could do. This tool will bury it's chisel in 6" of concrete, no problem. If it lasts a week, I will be $ ahead of renting from HD, and owning the tool gives me the space to work at my intermittent pace. This beast is heavy and powerful. I am running it on a 10ga extension cord with a 25 amp ground fault breaker. The plastic case is disposable thin, but has nice wheels. A month or so later, with 100+ hours of use, still running good. When we use the hammer horizontally, the oil does not flow very well, I learned to keep the oil reservoir full and every week dis-assemble the bottom and clean out the oily grit. Using the tool vertical, the oil flows thru pretty good, keeping the inner workings cleaner.

This works great, very happy
This works great, I am very happy with this. This is about 4 foot tall after you put the bit in it and weighs 40 pounds or so.I didn't weigh it so its approximate however its a good weight for the tool.We broke out the concrete on our basement to move a toilet and add a showerdrain. Broke out about 10 feet a foot wide. This had NO problems breaking this up.We scored the concrete about 3/8-1/2 in deep with a diamond blade as the outline. You don't have to do that but it keeps the lines straight and no cracking anywhere. The unit did not come with any oil in it but says to use 40 wt. I could not find thatso used straight 30wt oil. This worked fine and no leaks or anything. We did lubeup the bit good with 30wt before sticking that in as well. We used the flat bitfor everything. Both bits are fairly stout and will probably hold up ok. Did notnotice any wear at all for this small job. This does come with a small tool kit with a wrench to fill it with oil and somehex keys. The gloves and mask etc.. are junk but who cares at this price thisis still a good value. However they will get you buy in a pinch for a little while. We have one more toilet to move a couple feet and then chip out about 30 feetcracks so we can fill them in and smooth it out again. Will report back if thereare any issues.

You get what you pay for definitely not quality product
This product arrived very quickly.worked very good at first.I filled with oil and started breaking concrete for a French drain in my basement.First problem after two hours oil started dripping so I tighten the bolts more used another hour refilled oil and let it rest over night.Second day tightened all bolts but oil leak got worse.Used about four hours filled oil three times.Third day same oil problem but it was not breaking concrete well decided to try other bit.The bit was not the same would not fit had to sharpen old one.didn't help much hope it makes it the last 50 feet. For the price I hoped it would make one job. update the problem was that the bit broke inside unit I removed the bottom plate and the piece fell out,now the new bit fit in,changing the oil to 90 weight gear oil stopped most of the oil leak.ordered new bits
