Exactly what I wanted when I bought it
This is exactly what I wanted when I bought it. The build quality is great, nothing has broken come loose or even been damaged through normal use. I have tuned all of the skis that my family has, about 7 pairs, and the file and the diamond stones have all shown minimal wear. The gummy stone is wearing out slightly but that is expected for its size. The only con that I could think of was the slight streaks that the plastic leaves on the base of your skis, but this can easily be fixed with a little bit of painters tape.

Wish I bought this sooner. So easy.
Wish I bought this sooner. Easy to learn.... I recommend Watching a few tutorial vids on tuning (there is no shortage) to get the general gist of technique, and setting angles. With that knowledge, I Was still a little nervous and only did one pair of my skis, but they ended up perfect. Edges felt the same as the ones the shop tuned at the begining of the season. Need to play w edge angles, as New England conditions vary greatly, but this put a great edge on my skis, and my wife's snowboard.Bought this sharpener along w a cheap black and Decker clothes iron (don't by a ski wax iron - total rip off) and all purpose wax. There is no reason I should have to pay for tuning ever again. This investment has already paid for itself. My only other recomendation is be sure to have a sturdy bench and method of holding the skis or snowboard securely. I ended up putting 2 inch notches in some old 4x4 beams instead of clamping the skis down, and this worked perfectly, but there are certainly no shortage of ski clamps available.

Very easy to use
I have never used one of these before and was a bit hesitant. I decided to go with this one because of what it came with (small investment to try sharpening the rails). Very easy to use, quick to set up and change, pretty intuitive what to use. I did two pairs of skis in twenty minutes and was able to get the rails nice and sharp, knock of all the burrs, and de-rust the edges. I actually had to detune my park skis as they were catching and biting on all the rails. Both pairs held an edge way better than they had the previous year and felt much more stable carving on ice (common to the midwest). Probably not a kit for a pro or someone making skis at home, but great for someone doing 3-5 pairs every once and a while. I did my two pairs, two snowboards, and 4 other pairs for friends. If nothing else, get a gummy stone to derust and deburr.

There's a reason why it is rated so well
No, it isn't 10$ and if you are wanting something cheap look elsewhere. This thing is fantastic for an at home ski tuner and I have used it to sharpen dozens of sets of skis and snowboards over the last couple of years. It will get amazing results with time, patience and a little bit of practice. I took a pair of beat up craigslist skis and got them incredibly sharp using only this tool and its stones.

It"s very time consuming switching the three stones in and out.
Does a good job. However, I found a Ski Visions Sharp Edge Tuning Tool from Tognar.com which sharpens side and bottom edges at the same time which speeds up the sharpening process dramatically( the ceramic stones are not included).

Great Product / Bad Instructions
Product works great. Make sure you have some finger strength though or don't tighten the dials too far. It doesn't come with the best instructions. I recommend going online and finding a YouTube video of someone using it if you're a first timer.

File quaiity is awful; tool is fragile; ruins skis
You can grind the whole edge off a ski with this thing and not get it sharp due to the inconsistently sized grit on the files. Also the grit wears off quickly and rubbing the aluminum backer up and down your ski will give it a hell of a burr. Also only the ends of the file even touch the ski; this tool was obviously not designed for modern shaped skis with a deep sidecut. Also i dropped it on a wooden floor and it broke. I like tools that don't break when I drop them. Invest in some real files and guides; like swiss diamond files. This thing is a joke.

Simple to use and does the job
Yeah, really straightforward (forgive the pun) device to straighten and sharpen your edges. I use them on alpine skis. Nice and portable. I use to remove any burrs after skiing a 7 hour shift, patrolling the runs. Time will tell how long the diamonds last but the design is quite versatile for both the base and side edges.

安いファイル
思ったより小さいファイルでした。まだ使用してせんが、角度調整は安易にできそうです。時間がどれぐらいかかるかな?少し焼付いてます。
