Fast NVME Enclosure.
Very happy with this NVME Enclosure. Depending on what NVME drive is being used I have seen Read and Write speeds past 7000mbs. Internal fan is quiet I can not hear it. Drive does end making some heat after a long file transfer but performance does not decrease. I do wish the cable it came with was longer and the only issue I had was the aluminum shim it came with was useless when trying to cool the NVME and needs some thermal paste between the lid and metal shim otherwise heat transfer is poor. plus adding thermal paste not only helps drastically with cooling the drive it also keeps the shim stuck to cover.I just ended up using a zip tie to hold a small 40mm fan on the front to cool drive. Soldered up a USB cable to power the fan with 5 volts off PC

Solid Performance, but Runs Warm
I tested the MAIWO 40Gbps M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure with a Samsung 980 PRO 2TB SSD, and the results were impressive. Sequential read and write speeds reached 3793 MB/s and 3432 MB/s, respectively, which is excellent for an external NVMe SSD enclosure. Random read and write speeds were also reasonable, though write speeds on smaller blocks could be improved. The build quality is solid, and setup was straightforward. However, I noticed the enclosure does heat up during sustained workloads. While it didn’t throttle performance in my use case, it’s something to consider if you frequently transfer large files or use it intensively for extended periods.Overall, this is a great product for those looking for a high-performance external SSD solution, but be mindful of potential heat buildup during prolonged use.

Happy with purchase
Satisfied with the device and speed. I purchased this to run VM's (mainly Windows 11) on my Mac Mini M4. The speeds are more than acceptable. I ran the first screenshot within my Windows 11 VM and maybe VMware is caching as seems a bit high but ran Amorphous (similar to CrystalDiskMark) on the Mac and got more reasonable results with my Samsung 980 1TB drive. The fan is a little noisy as others have stated, with an otherwise silent system, I can hear the fan but with any sort of music/noise going, can't hear it. I will most likely get a longer cable and move under my desk so can't hear it anymore. For the cost, would highly recommend.

Platform: AM5, Windows 10 Pro, USB40 PortSSD: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB (60% Full), Health 98%Cables Used: Cable Matters [Intel Certified] 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 Cable 3.3ft, Anker USB C Cable (3.3FT, 240W), USB 4 Data Cable, 40Gbps & Included super short USB C Cable, all similar performance.Software used: CrystalDiskMark 8.0.4 (x64)Build quality is great, this thing is heavy for what it is & well built, fan is necessary, has a high pitch whine, but it removes 15-20°C, hope you're ready to get used to it (gets quite hot without it, even on idle) or maybe improvise with another fan. Used my ORICO M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure, USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) for comparison, only gets lukewarm to the touch, whether in use or idle.Performance was odd at first, the read speeds were what I expected, but the writes only around 558 MB/s, until I remembered to enable Write cache in the device manager, then write speeds shot up to where they should be, around 2800 MB/s.Photos - Left: Write Cache Enabled | Right: Write Cache Disabled

Works as intended, and not exactly as intend too! Janky eGPU anyone??
Added an Acer 1TB 4.0 drive rated for about 7000MB/s reads and 6000MB/s writes, and in the enclosure it peaked around 3.5GB/s reads and 3.1GB/s writes which is perfectly acceptable for a USB4 enclosure! Stays cool enough, is a pretty solid chunk of aluminum.Being a techy dude, it seemed like most legit USB4 controllers support PCIE tunneling, so I grabbed my laptop with thunderbolt 4, my cheap oculink kit, a cheap PSU and my RX6600...took a couple of restarts, but holy cow, it WORKED! Not recommended as it seems flaky, but I was able to run a few benchmarks and play a couple games!

Worked well to begin but died in under 6 months of VERY LIGHT use (under 24 hours total)
Bought this about 5 months ago for a 2TB Kingston KC3000 drive (Read: 7000MB/s and Write 6000MB/s)Enclosure worked up until yesterday afternoon. I've used it a total of 5 or 6 times total (powered on less than 24 hours). Now it just flashes the activity light but the drive no longer shows up in windows.Confirmed it was neither an issue with the NVME drive nor the cable, tested on 3 different desktop PC's and 2 laptops (2024 Asus ROG G14). Also tried 2 different NVMe drives I had on hand but none of the 3 work. Have 8 different USB 4 cables as well, no change. Only other potential point of failure is the enclosure itself.I did reach out to the company to enquire about a warranty claim (the warranty details aren't listed on the product page as of the time of this review. If / when I hear back from this company I will update my review accordingly.

So far so good but Windows users read this
I'm using Windows 11 with an MSI Motherboard and Thunderbolt 4 connections on the back. Inserted a WD_Black SN7100 2GB NVME.Its working good so far. Speeds are as expected for Thunderbolt 4 on Windows. There is one thing you need to do in order to get full write speed. You need to enable the write cache located in Device Manager > Disk drives > your NVME > Policies (see photo). Otherwise the write speed will be much lower. The cooling fan definitely keeps the enclosure cool but its not a quiet fan. Knocked off one star for that. Otherwise its working and will follow up long term if something happens.

Great performance for the money!
Amazingly fast enclosure! Runs hot at times but nothing to be alarmed about. Would definitely purchase from this company again!
