Make sure to download all updates before attempting to hook up. The scanner is a little glitch but overall great tool!

Not for me
This item was very slow, hooked up to internet the whole time. I bought this specific item for throttle gift relearn, which i still had to purchase... TWICE! Within a month... so for the relearn to not work! I was very excited at first but now I can't find any support number, the chat session isn't any help

Good so far, but any vehicle not GM requires a yearly subscription...
This scan tool does what I bought it for, what I needed it to. Its interface isn't perfect, but it works. My biggest concern after I bought and received it was seeing the terms. In its "Mall" it provides the opportunity to buy the ability to scan other manufactures, other than GM. The terms though follow with the horrible trend of subscriptions. Most vehicle manufacturers in the "Mall" cost about $40. That's very fair. But unfortunately, after you purchase the ability to scan another vehicle manufacturer, it expires after one year. After that, you'll have to buy it again. My family members mostly drive Toyotas, but ours is a Chevy. I can buy the ability to scan thier cars, but must buy it again every year if I want to keep it. This subscription-model system sucks across the board. Whatever happened to being able to just buy something outright, knowing we'd have it for as long as we could keep it in tact?! Not so with Launch. You have to buy it again every year if you want to keep it.Now after reading their terms and agreements, I worried that even the GM/Chevy ability might expire after I've had this scanner for a year. They didn't make clear if that was the case—if after buying this device, we'd have to pay them $40 (for now) to keep using it for the GM function I bought it for. Their terms and fine-print made it sound like that was the case. If so, I'd be returning it.I contacted the company, and they promised that the ability to scan GM vehicles (and updates) would be provided forever at no additional cost. They him-hawed about it at first, but after a few back-and-forths, they promised me that the GM/Chevy function it came with when I bought it was permanent—lasting for the life of the scan tool. I pushed to make them promise that two times, but they did. Hopefully they won't decide to go back on that down the road, but honestly their required user terms do allow them to. They did promise not to twice though, in writing. If you need this for other vehicle manufacturers, you will have to rebuy it each year if you wish to continue using it for anything other than GM series vehicles. Most options are about $40. Know that going in.This tool does do a good job, including letting you email a full report to wherever you wish, and it includes everything that the tool shows in its diagnostics, minus freeze frame etc.So far it seems to be a very good tool. It seems very durable physically, and capable electronically. But only because they guarunteed lifetime GM updates.

Great little scanner with some advanced functions
I bought this to do a brake job on a 2021 Silverado 1500. It has the electronic parking brake and the brake pad monitor. I was getting a nagging message on the screen that said 'Service Brake Pad Monitor'. I put new brake pads, wear sensors, and rotors on it and everything went OK I thought. The trucks screen said it detected new brake pads and asked if I wanted to reset the brake pad life so I checked YES but when it got done the brake pad monitor showed 100% on the rear and 51% on the front--and yes I had it in service mode. It wouldn't let me manually reset it again. None of my scanners could reset the brake pad monitor and I read that this one could do it. The price of this scanner was a little less than the dealer quoted me to do the reset but they said if the brakes were done incorrectly it could cost $2000 blah blah blah and I would have to leave the truck there because they were backed up . I was positive I did it correctly because I used GM service info so I bought this scanner. Charged the scanner and did the updates (it says upgrade on the screen but it means update). Plugged it into the truck and did the reset in about 2 minutes. No trip to the dealer and no getting "You put in the wrong pads" or anything like that.

Outstanding scan tool. 100% would recommend
This tool solved a lingering inoperable AC condition on a 2014 Chevy Cruz in less time than it took to download the software updates. That is in no way an exaggeration nor a complaint...the software and GUI is super sleek and provides full access to all modules on the network. This incudes accessing the data stream from each module as well performing functional testing...the tool can command for example the ac clutch on / off, or the AC solenoid to open and close. A true bi-directional tool. What else, screenshots that you can email to yourself? yup, has that, and it's super slick, click click, sent. It just works, and that's really the theme of the whole tool, it just works.I want to go break something on my Honda so that I can justify the download, because guess what, I can add Honda, I can add Ford, sure, it costs for the year, but versus buying another tool, seems like an obvious choice and screaming deal at that.TLDR: Best scan tool I have ever owned - it reads and controls the AC system, 2014 Chevy Cruz.

Need to purchase more software!!
After receiving excellent customer service and feedback from the company I’m increasing my overall star review to reflect that. I believe the company went above the normal standards of service to assist in this.Well I normally don’t do reviews or comments however beware that the statements in the product description are misleading!! I purchased the GM 2024 version manly because I needed the throttle relearning and if one needs basically anything that is by directional communication one will need to purchase it in the software mall for basically $40 for one years worth of use!! Example “Full” GM capable software $40 plus relearn throttle body $40 adding an additional $80 for one year of software service plus the price of the unit. The description doesn’t mention needing to purchase more software and is misleading customers in thinking this is all they need. I noticed some have mentioned this in the reviews THEY ARE CORRECT. With that mentioned and software installed the GM throttle relearning went smoothly with no problems on my 2012 Cadillac CTS after removing my throttle body for cleaning.
