UPDATE - Great lightweight and compact flood light
Ordered Archon D11V XM-L after reading several reviews on underwater video lights for the GoPro. Archon was named as a good, low cost alternative light. I was able to locate the Archon light on Amazon, with free shipping. At first I was hesitant due to the item being shipped from China and that it had an expected delivery date of about month but rolled the dice and purchased two. Received the item in less that two weeks from the USPS.The item(s) were packaged well, with an outer wrapping of tape and shipping paper. After cutting off the outer layer, located two boxes, each one contained a single flashlight, extra o-rings and hand landyard (Remember: NO BATTERIES ARE INCLUDED). There was no damage to the outer packaging or display boxes located inside. Both lights functioned as expected and matched all discriptons/dimensions listed in the add. On activation, these lights produced a flood type of light in three settings and no observed hot spots.Overall, the dive lights seem to be constructed well and produce a good amount of "flood" light for the money. I gave a four star rating due to not seeing the lights operate at depth. However, both seemed to be working good in the pool with no leaks observed at five feet of water for 40 minutes. Remember to purchase a "good" 18650 battery or two CR123A batteries to run the lights. I used Tenergy 18650 3.7V 2600mAh button top batteries (good quality). Hope it helped.Bruce9/16/14 UPDATE - Dive trip completed to Cozumel. Was amazed on how much light these put out. I had two lights on my GoPro platform and they performed perfectly. Four dives between 65 - 75 feet and lasting appx 45 minutes. In fact, the guy with the professional GoPro set up was amazed at how little the lights cost but yet rivaled his 1100 lumn $400 (each) lights. I changed my 4 star rating to 5 due to the lights performing as I needed with no, NO issues.

Awesome little scuba light!
Nice sturdy design, quick delivery, nice packaging. It fits right into your palm, not too bulky. It works as advertised with a 18650 battery. I measured 1.5 hours of operating time on the full setting, without any noticeable overheating. It operates really nicely on 110ft deep, no hotspots so OK for underwater video / backup light (even primary if you are fish friendly).I would suggest buying this to my friends as well.I only gave it 4 stars because I'm paranoid when it comes to dive lights and I'm worried that the 'twisty' type of switching on an off degrades the rubber bands and I will suddenly loose waterproofing. Again. This is just me.Update:I've just bought a second one. The twisty switch performs great even at depths of 130ft and since I've been with it on more, then 30 dives already and works like a charm, I modified my original review to 5 stars.Again. If you need a nice little video light, this is perfect.

Best part of them is the amazing and even dispersion
It's hard to believe that a flashlight at this price point works this well. I used two of them on my GoPro tray and I could not believe how well they performed. They lit up fish in the daylight bring out colors that I never was able to capture without lights. In night diving they perform as well as torches at 3 times the cost. My fellow divers in Belize could not believe how little I paid for them. They stay dry down to at least 100 feet. That is the deepest I took the, But do follow the directions and put silicone on the O ring before you splash them.Best part of them is the amazing and even dispersion. I mean these things have ZERO hot spots in them. Don't hesitate....buy one. Or in my case....2. I give this torch my highest recommendation. "The no suck guarantee!!!!"

Great video light for the price!
These are identical to others offered under slightly different names/numbers at a fraction of the cost... They produce a wide even light distribution. I purchased 2 of these to mount onto a Snake River Prototyping Gopro boomerang tray and arm kit ([...]) if you buy the tray and arm from SRP and the Archon light here... you can save >$100USD... You aren't going to find a better camera light at this price point. The only downside as others have mentioned is the lack of an on-off switch on the housing (i.e. you give the base cap a 1/4 turn to turn on/off which could lead to leaking underwater if you aren't careful... also this toggles between the modes 100%, 50%, Flashing) so even trying to turn these on/off underwater might be more hassle than it's worth... but at this price point it's easy to afford a couple extra batteries to swap out between dives... and these will even run on CR123 lithium non-rechargeable batteries in a pinch (takes 2xlight).

Great light at a great price
I finally got to use two of these lights with my GoPro during three night dives in Bonaire last week.I was already impressed with their brightness when testing in a dark room, but I was *very* impressed with the lights under water. The beam was wide (the two lights easily filled the GoPro's wide angle view)and light intensity was even with no hotspots.Looking back at the videos, I would guess the lights had a usable illumination distance of 30+ feet in the clear Bonaire waters.I noticed minimal dimming after running on high for 40+ minutes using the following batteries. TangsFire® 4pcs 18650 3600 mAh 3.7V Li-ion Rechargeable Battery + 1pcs charger Shipping was relatively fast and the lights arrived in approx. 1.5 weeks. The one caveat would be that one of the lights developed a flicker. When trying to find the possible cause, I switched the end caps between the two lights. That apparently fixed the issue as I haven't experienced flickering in either light since.
