Effective for 2-pages of sheet music, but non-standard cable and dumb charger
This is not bad - in my application (music stand light over piano), it covers a 2-page spread evenly (just barely, but that's fine... it serves the need and lets me play without turning on room or desk lights). The color temperature is a bit on the cold side for my tastes, but that's a matter of personal preference. It is bright enough for the piano sheets. and certainly acceptable for a book (though some say that late-night exposure, if any, should tend toward the warmer end of the spectrum to prevent melatonin suppression from bluish light). The clamp is strong, and has a clever hinged pad that keeps the pressure evenly distributed over thicknesses of up to about 1 inch.I chose this unit over others available at the time (early 2015) because it is rechargeable... having to manage batteries is a pain. It works fine, but I have two comments on the implementation.First, the connector at the light end of the cable is a mini coaxial, not the now-ubiquitous standard micro-USB. The charger end of the cable is USB, which is a good start, but the net effect is that this is yet another "special" cable/gadget that has to be kept associated with a product. Why, oh why, did the manufacturer not go with standard stuff that just about everybody already owns?Second, the charger is not smart... and this is unfortunate. The PDF manual makes it very clear that one should not leave the light charging for extended periods, or even overnight. This is tantamount to admitting that the battery can overheat, which means the charger is continuing to push power after after it has reached 100% charge. Oddly, the charger does know to change its LED color from red to green, which is your cue to pay attention and unplug it after the 2-3 hour charge period, but it if already KNOWS that, why not just stop the charge? Lazy design there, though it is certainly better than some products that just warn you not to leave it plugged in for more than some arbitrary amount of time.I'll get plenty of mileage out of this useful gadget, I'm sure, but will keep watching for one that doesn't violate those two principles: standardization, and intelligent charging of Lithium batteries.

For Insomniacs!!!
Sleep has always eluded me. I love to read in bed because it helps me become drowsy. I have a collection of book lights from the last 20 years, all of which have been frustrating. Either they fell off the book, or they did not illuminate both pages and I had to keep fiddling every time I wanted to read the facing page. The batteries ran out all the time and I had to buy new ones. I would give up and would go back to using the night stand light, which #1 made the room too light, #2 was an effort to reach up and turn off, waking me up from my drowsy state. I had been using the iPad to read, but then I read that the light from it actually causes your brain to stay awake. What was I to do? I found this light recommended on a website for people who have trouble sleeping. I love it!!! I like that it is rechargeable. I like that it has two little lamps so both pages are illuminated. I like that they company was very responsive in wanting to know if I liked it. There was also a little surprise that I did not expect, a small, purse sized flashlight to use in the theater to read the program. All in all, this light has made bedtime a better experience for me. I still wake up in the middle of the night, but I reach over, get my book with its light, and within 15 minutes usually fall back asleep.

Fortunately, I read with the Kindle oriented landscape
Works well and the way I use it, the battery lasted several weeks before requiring a re-charge. I'm using it on a Kindle and having the lights on necks allows them to be positioned so that they don't glare on the glass. The clamp is a little weak for the Kindle. It is only strong enough if it's positioned vertically and slid all the way down to the stop...that is, if you clamp it to the tiny thin bezel on the Kindle, it will slip during use. There's only one part of my tiny Kindle onto which I can clamp this and not have to worry about it slipping...the part at the bottom next to the buttons. Fortunately, I read with the Kindle oriented landscape, so this position works for me. If you read in portrait orientation, you may have to turn your Kindle upside down with the buttons at the top to use this gizmo. My only other complaint is actually an enhancement request. I expected there to be a master switch that fed power to the lights and another one on each light that let you pick between one and two lights. This is not the case. With each use, you have to click each light three times, regardless of how many lights you want to use. I'd rather set up the number of lights once, then use a master on/off switch from then on.

Not as perfect as I had hoped.
I was surprised at how small this light actually is. It fit into a small box, measuring 4" x 3" x 2.5". It is approximately 8" tall. I also wish the size of the lights were larger to give out more light. The light this lamp gives out is a soft white light, not bright.I do like how easy it is to recharge... plug it into an AC outlet the light turns from green to red, then when the battery is fully charged the light turns green again.I always use this light with both lights on at full power. It gives out sufficient light while I work on my laptop, or work on household expenses, or write letters in a dimly light room. Since I don't have a desk area that is well lighted, I was hoping this portable light would give me the light I so desperately need. This light is only a 'port-in-a-storm'.I love that I will never need to replace the battery and it is easily charged. Also that it easily clips onto a laptop or table; plus the clip is soft enough that it will not scratch any surface you clip it onto.
