Raticator Plus Rodent Zapper That Humanely Exterminates Mice and Rats

These electronic units do a mercifully quick job of dispatching rodents.This Raticator and the Rat Zapper need to be kept clean. I hope you are able to do a better job of cleaning than I could.When they are new and clean, they work very well. However, once a little bait or rat debris gets under or between the plates, sparks will jump across the gaps and the unit won’t work. Cleaning them can be difficult. It is hard to reach inside and do a good job.Save up a few more dollars and consider the Rodent Terminator.

BWAHAHAHAHA! Within 24 hours, the Raticator accomplished what weeks of snap traps, glue traps and a hunting cat had failed to accomplish . . . a dead rat! I placed the Raticator under the house yesterday afternoon with cat food and cheerios as bait. Used gloves to avoid giving it my scent. I came home this afternoon and the rat is DEAD! Don't hesitate . . . if you have vermin, buy one!!! . . .And, a second rat is killed in less than 21 hours by the Raticator. They say if you have a rat, you have more than one rat. The Raticator has been reset with cat food and cheerios and is back under the house . . .April 18, 2014 . . . over the winter, one more rat and three mice eliminated from under the house. Bravo, Raticator, bravo!May 23, 2014 . . . another mouse recently and, today, a 5" rat . . . guess it's easy for the little bastards to get under the house . . . lovin' the Raticator!May 29, 2014 . . . apparently spring has brought a new batch of rats underneath the house. The Raticator has taken out an additional three rats over the last six days, two 4-5"ers and an 8" Momma (I hope) . . . new set of batteries and back under the house . . .

I purchased one of these in May. It worked great in the chicken coop for about a month. Then just stopped working. I sent it back. They sent a new one. New one didn't work at all. I sent it back. They sent another one. It worked for about a week and then stopped working. This time they were a bit more reluctant to give me a new one. They sent me several pdfs with instructions for cleaning, and how to do a spark test. I cleaned carefully (even though it wasn't even dirty yet) did the spark test, got no spark. I sent it back again. They tested it and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, but because I was so patient they would send me another. Now that one has stopped working as well. In my extensive e-mails back and forth I asked if there was anything I was doing wrong. They read off a litany of what it could be: too much dust (in a chicken coop...can't be avoided) got wet (never) loose wire (not that I could see). But the ones that I sent back supposedly had nothing wrong with them. End result: I give up! Going back to the slap traps that seem to break after 1 or 2 catches. It's just easier to keep buying them at the hardware store than to wait for Raticators to come from California to NY. And they probably wouldn't send me another one anyway!

I had another brand of this type before of exact construction so it seems to shop around by price is of merit. That previous one...it caught in the neighborhood of thirty, yes, thirty roof (Norwegian) rats. It would have lasted if not being hit by the rain, something to really think about when placing the unit (rain, sprinklers).This unit has caught three more so far. I'm using Eneloop brand rechargeable batteries and can get about five zaps before replacing. It's susceptible to false alarms, mainly after rains worms are drawn to it and trigger the unit.Use it extremely simple. Throw some cat or dog kibble in the back, turn it on, set it, and walk away. A red flashing light on top notifies that it was sprung. Should there be a rat it it, simply pick up the unit, walk to the nearest trashcan and dump the rodent out. I've had it zap some alarmingly large ones, it took vigorous shaking to empty the contents. Still...it did the job intended.With so many pets nearby, this is a perfect choice. They smell the kibble in the trap but are too big to get it and soon forget about trying to retrieve it. I used to worry about them finding the snap traps or glue ones.One final note, the rats will initially be distrustful of the box (by smell, sight) so bait it a few times but don't arm it. After being outside sometime it doesn't seem to alarm them anymore and they gladly walk right in.

Excellent product. At first i was not sure due to some reviews but still took the risk. Arrived on time in good packaging. It only took 5-6 days and then it started to catch the mice one by one. Overall it caught over 40+ mice in a 2 month period and after that i lost count, as they had got into our floor boards and we had a massive infestation. I would defiantly recommend this product and state that to make best use of it always use dry food and after each kill always clean the Raticator out with a wet wipe or damp cloth and then dry to ensure the last rat or mice smell is no longer inside the device. Seriously i cant praise it enough and i would have bought two but could not afford it at the time. Works better than the plug in sound devices. I just want to say a very big thank you to the Raticator Plus company who supplied this to me and that for the job this device done i would definitely say it is extremely under-priced. One last thing, 'yes' this device cleared up the problem, took some time due to the scale of the infestation but all mice where caught and i no longer have a mice problem.

No good for outside, although this was not explained in the advert. I returned it and got a refund.
