I bought 2 of these so that I could use my phone and charge at the same time. Especially for battery intensive apps like GPS while driving. Where I can get it to work with music and podcasts I cannot get it to work with the mic for phone calls. I usually cannot hear or speak to the person and have to switch to Apple connector and headset and forego being able to charge. Which is tedius and a waste of time and resource. If I am doing something wrong let me know and I will gladly change review. I was going to return them... but have not... but I would not recommend if you are wanting to make calls and charge at same time. Price was fine... functionality is woefully lacking.

When I plugged my older style Apple earbuds into the adapter, I got a noticeable crackling/popping sound. It was as if there was an intermittent short in the wiring. The plug for the lightning connector for charging did not seat all the way into the adapter port. However, it did charge my phone. I could not listen to music while charging because of the annoying popping.

It works fine if you want to listen to audio (listen to music or watch a movie) but if you have a headset that also has a mic so you plan to make phone calls it doesn't work. I was really hoping I could use my Bose headset with built -in mic so I could make phone call. I hate that Apple decided to drop the headphone connector. It has been a nightmare trying to get an adapter that supports both.

I ordered this to be able to charge, and listen to my iPhone X at the same time. I will start with saying that it does in fact allow you to do that. Unfortunately, the audio quality is vastly compromised when using this device. The plug port is constructed poorly, and the plug doesn't fit well. You have to insert the plug at just the right depth to get it to play in stereo, and when you finally have all of those stars aligned perfectly and you get a phone call, this device won't let your phone call come through whatever auxiliary device you are plugged into, so you are forced to either unplug, or switch to speaker phone. Very underwhelmed with the product as a whole. Great idea, bad execution.

This product does not work. I was really hoping it would. And when I was trying to use it broke my charger. I’m just really disappointed because I’m on my phone all day at work listening to music and needing to charge and listen at the same time.

I see a lot of negative reviews here about the durability, but mine is working fine after about a year (I don't use it all that often, but whatever) and I'm about to get another one for my mom. The sleeves (?) where the cable connects to the lightning adapter and splitter are not of particularly high quality, as expected for cheapish electronics.

Bought 3 of these for the family. The first few uses the product worked well. After that on 2 static began to get louder and louder with additional usage. Even tried with multiple types of headphones and the issue still persisted.

Worked ok for about a month in car for about 1,500 miles, with slight noise in car stereo. Hadn't driven that car in a while and today it now does not work at all, lowering the phone volume to zero when used. Problem only happens when plugged into power and 3.5mm jack. Tried new 3.5mm cable and same issue. Phone has no volume issues when plugged directly to power without this adapter either. Too late to return under Amazon policy...
