My Betta Perked Up!
As a relatively new betta owner, shopping for Bob (and now Betty, Casper and Monster), there's been a bit of experimentation with the learning curve. It pains me now to think of how dim my lighting was. I had made the mistake of purchasing first one beginner kit, then another, while standing in the aisle at Petco. The employees reassured me that Lee's Betta Keeper (an enhanced solo cup) and Marina' Betta EZ Care Aquarium would be good homes. Neither of these came equipped with lighting or heat. Upgrading to Tetra's Color Fusion 3 gallon (random Walmart purchase) I thought I was being a good Mom. Oy. While the submersible LED lighting unit offers color, it's only a tease.Feeling brazen I scooped up a 5.5 gallon while meandering a local pet store. Despite cycling the tank, including an air stone, appropriate heating and moss ball, while fastidiously cleaning up after Bob, he just wasn't happy.Overseeing a depressed fish is bleak. The little blubber was alternating hiding deep in his plant, or behind the filter. Not exactly the zen I'd been looking for.Turning to Amazon I tried a submersible 7.5 LED aquarium light. At $10.99 it sounded sufficiently budget to try. Given the existing placement of my filter and heater, I opted to situate the light at the far end of the tank. The lighting provided certainly intrigued Bob, but wasn't sufficient for anyone to see him throughout the tank.Enter AQQEF 36 Blue and While LED Fish Tank Light. I just received my second order as I liked it so much. Excuse me, BOB liked it so much. The only change to the tank was the upgrade in lighting. Temperature was stable, water quality regularly tested and constant. Lo and behold Bob is suddenly exploring all areas of the tank, swimming up to the glass when anyone entered the room. Now that we've been using the light for some time, he's also adjusted well to the blue LED lights. The blue light initially seemed to cause alarm. One day later and the little stinker was cruising around.I've been slow to post a review as my photography skills aren't stellar. Grabbing a photo with the white light is pretty easy. Bob came out in startling clarity, with not much effort on my end. (Holding my iphone flush against the glass worked best.) Smartphones, however, do not know what to do with blue lighting. Rest assured, both light options work incredibly well. The switch is large enough to fit comfortably in my hand, but not too large to pull the light off the tank. The item came extremely well packed, so there was no fear of it being damaged in transit. There's quite a bit of flexibility in adjusting the span across the tank. As others have stated, there's really no noticable heat emanating.Note: This type of light is not intended to come directly in contact with water. The system is made for use over a glass cover or acrylic top. This item comes highly recommended.

Bought this to replace my burn out old lighting for my 7.5 Gallon fish tank. I was surprise it was so much brighter than the old one.I currently have it setup on to of my tank glass cover. And it brighten up the whole tank pretty well. I have had this light for couple of days and it was on for 7 hours daily and it did not generate much heat on the glass cover or affect the water temperature. The only think I don't like about is the on/off switch is on the wire cord. I preferred to have on the side of the light, so I can turn it on/off without digging out the wires under the table.Overall, I think it is great for the small size tank.

It saved my tank!
I used to have a LED light on my 30 gal tank but I didn't realize that over time it had lost a lot of lumens. My plants gradually died off (except for the cryptocorynes) and fish lost hiding and grazing, so the population declined as well. I thought that lighting level might be to blame so I bought the AQQEF light because it offered highest output (21W) for a 15" light. What a difference! In just six weeks a complete turn around. Plants are now thriving and fish population has increased. Fish are much more active, not to mention that the tank is now beautiful again. Thanks so much!

Blue or white, beautiful light with a great price.
Great little light! Can either be white or blue. Our water has tannin from an IAL and you can't even tell with the white light. Fits either our 5 gallon or our 10 gallon. Got for our the plants and it's definitely brighter than the original submersible light I purchased first. Hopefully the plants like it too!

Love the lights
These lights are awesome. Very cool, low slim profile. Very bright on white. I don't use the blue light setting (Dim). My Cichlids go crazy attacking and fighting with each other. Only thing I can figure out is that their blue color is very enhanced and perhaps it is a sign of aggression.

This light, while it still worked, penetrated the water well and helped grow my plants and keep my fish perked up. The only problem occurs when you move it around to different tanks. The plug in on my light fixture has gone out and there is something lose on the inside of it from a few days of moving it to different tanks whose lights are coming in soon. The two stars comes from the performance it gave when it worked, while the 3 other stars are to its build quality.

but it makes my fish look nice.
This is incredibly bright for my 10 gallon tank. I've been fighting algae since I put this light in to replace incandescent, but it makes my fish look nice.
