Surpassed my expectations
Imagine my surprise when I found out that the live data actually worked on my older Toyota. I was just buying it to be able to read and clear codes, I never expected it to show me a graph of live data. That really helped me pinpoint the problem better than just having a code alone would have. Connection was easy and it automatically identified the car, that is better than some professional units I've seen.Pros:Identified car without me entering dataRead codes easilyRead live data and displayed a graph for meWas able to clear codesPerformed well enough that my mechanic borrowed it to use on a car his unit wasn't reading... it read it!Cons:If I just had to pick on it a bit, I'd complain about the user manual... if you want to call it that. Terrible user manual.Screen is a bit hard to read if you have bad close up vision, so get out your reader fellow GenX'rs

A DIY Mechanic’s Dream Come True!
The ANCEL AD410 Enhanced OBD2 Scanner has been a total game-changer for me! As someone who likes to tinker with my car and avoid unnecessary trips to the mechanic, this little black-and-yellow powerhouse has saved me time, money, and headaches. It’s easy to use, packed with useful features, and works like a charm on my 2005 sedan—and pretty much any OBDII car from 1996 onward. I’m hooked!Pros:• Quick and Clear Code Reading: Plugged it into my car’s OBDII port, and within seconds, it pulled up the check engine light codes with short, helpful descriptions. I fixed a pesky oxygen sensor issue myself thanks to this!• Wide Compatibility: It’s worked flawlessly on every 1996+ vehicle I’ve tried—friends’ cars, my truck, you name it. Supports all OBDII protocols (KWP2000, ISO9141, J1850 VPW, J1850 PWM, CAN), so it’s super versatile.• Live Data is a Lifesaver: Watching real-time data like RPM, coolant temp, and O2 sensor readings on the 2.4-inch color LCD is awesome. It helped me pinpoint a misfire without guesswork.• Easy to Use: The interface is intuitive, even for a beginner like me. Buttons are straightforward, and it’s powered right from the car—no batteries to fuss with. Plus, lifetime free updates keep it current.• Smog Check Ready: The I/M readiness feature told me exactly when my car was good to pass emissions—no more failed tests or wasted trips to the inspection station.Cons:• Manual Could Be Better: The included instructions are pretty basic—more of a quick-start than a deep dive. I had to poke around online to figure out some features, but the tool itself is simple enough to muddle through.• Screen Scratches Easily: The display is clear and bright, but it picked up some light scratches after rattling around in my glovebox. A protective case (not included) would’ve been a nice touch.• Limited to Engine Only: It’s fantastic for check engine light stuff, but don’t expect it to diagnose ABS or airbag issues. For that, you’d need a pricier model. This ANCEL AD410 OBD2 Scanner is a steal for what it does—reading and clearing codes, checking live data, and making sure my car’s smog-ready, all in a compact, user-friendly package. It’s given me confidence to handle basic repairs and avoid getting ripped off at the shop. My only regret is not buying it sooner! Five stars for a tool that’s become my garage MVP.

Does what I expected it to do...
When the "Check Engine" idiot light comes on, it may be for any of a multitude of reasons. Most dealers and repair shops charge upwards of $100 to plug in their unit and give the customer a diagnosis.Well, I decided to invest in an OBD2 Scanner. This unit had good reviews at a price I was willing to pay.As advertised, the OBD2 device scanned the codes and provided a text description of the issues. As a novice, it took an hour or so to figure out how to use the unit, grasp what information was being provided and the process of resetting the codes. The unit has many more features, however I have yet to "play" with it.Pros:As advertised, the OBD2 device scanned the codes and provided a text description of the issues.Allowed me to reset the codes.Cons:Limited instructions

Good little scanner!
This Onboard Diagnostic (OBD) scanner was the next step up from their cheaper version, but performed as if it might be more sophisticated. It was not. Although there were no explanatory instructions for every function, it was quite simple to figure out after using it a couple times. I am a beginner to these types of electronics, but I had to find out why my 12 year old car had a code and figure out the problem before my mechanic tackled the job. Every system was addressed that needed to be and I checked everything for peace of mind. Every system and sub-system passed except the initial error code and my mechanic confirmed it as well. That saved time and money. He corrected the problem, and cleared the code, all because of this scanner. Even though it isn't a high dollar professional one like he had, it diagnosed the problem, same as his did and got me enormous relief since there were no outrageous charges to be dealt with. I highly recommend this OBDII and checking your system every so often is good preventative maintenance
