This handy Women's Shoe Instep Raiser helps relieve pressure on the most difficult area of a shoe to stretch: the instep. Its adjustable design allows you to stretch the instep to your desired height, which helps relieve pain and uncomfortable tightness; in new shoes, it can help eliminate the break-in period. Its slim form fits into most shoes.

Fantastic idea, poorly made
I bought 2 of these. Both had the same quality issues:1. Main holding screw is made of weak metal and breaks. This happened to both units I bought.2. The upper surfaces of the product is well made, but they are poorly finished, with rough edges and Splinters.I still use it frequently and it does the job (although with broken screws it's harder to use). But this is a mediocre to poor product that could be amazing if it were manufactured properly.

Well Built & Works Great
This product is well built for the job it has to do and it does that job very well. I bought some designer Italian shoes and with a couple of uses raised the instep where I could actually wear them comfortably, the alternative would be to toss these brand new shoes and take a big wallet hit. Now I have some really great looking shoes and even feel like taking them dancing. So for me, a bit of sprayed on leather stretching liquid, 1 part isopropyl alcohol to 2 parts water, and this excellent instep stretching tool worked like magic in a few tries on each shoe. Be sure to let the stretching liquid to dry completely before removing the tool and before each stretching application. As I mentioned, I did a couple of passes on each shoe and was done but one's result may vary and it may take more or less applications of this process.Bottom line, the product is built for the job right out of the box and the results were first rate.

Save your money
This is so disappointing. Opened the box and a bolt fell out. You probably need a special tool. My husband put it back as best he could. So I slid the gizmo into my shoe opened it as wide as it went and it didn't even hit the top of the shoe. You can't read the size on the box it all blurry. The packing slip says woman's large. The gadget slips around inside the shoe and doesn't stretch a thing. Sent an email to Amazon. The email on the box isn't a valid address for the company Justin Blair &Company. Since today is Saturday I'll pursue this further on Monday. It certainly isn't worth $42.95. If anyone orders this I wish you luck.

This worked great on my new leather sandals that had an instep ...
It is hard to find a shoe stretcher that will work on the instep of a shoe. This worked great on my new leather sandals that had an instep strap that was uncomfortably tight. It was a little large through the toe but worked well on the instep, which is what I bought it for. It's a little expensive but worth it if it saves several pairs of shoes/sandals. Very happy!

Not Cheaply Made and Did The Trick!
I may point out that the reviews saying it was made cheaply stopped a while ago and have been replaced with ones that say the device is sturdy. I bought this last week to stretch a nice pair of leather loafers that had an extremely tight instep. I put it in each shoe for about 8 hours and it worked like a charm. It is extremely sturdy and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Don’t throw the shoes away try this instead!
I bought several pairs of shoes that did not work for me because I have a high instep. This in step riser worked perfect.

Not as adjustable as I'd like
This was not as adjustable as I need it to be. I have beginning bunions and wear Danskos. Ouch! My husband may drill some holes in the places I need for them to be. For that reason, I'm not returning it.

Not for high heels
If you are buying this for pumps of any height, this will not work. Don't waste your money. It doesn't work for flats that doesn't have a hard heel. The shoe curves on an oval, but the instep doesn't get stretched. The is more for flat shoes with a structured hard sole.
