Bilstein5100 Series 15-16 Ford F-150 Rear 46mm Monotube Shock Absorber (33-253237)

This is by far the nicest upgrade ive done to my truck. Very simple to Install but night and day difference in ride quality and I no longer feel like the truck is diving into the turns. I added a camper shell on my ṭruck and tow alot. The truck rides so smooth now. I read alot about a rougher ride and I assume that was with empty with an open bed. Because even with just the shell it still rides smooth. Also the ford wheel hop is much improved worth these.

Install was quick and painless. I did have to compress the shock a little to get it to line up but this wasn’t a problem because I’m a Flinstone kid. It take 65lbs of pressure to move this shock at the same rate as 25lbs of pressure on the factory shock. I set both on a digital scale to get this reading.The end result of this better shock is a “tighter” ride. It’s not a rough ride but you feel more connected to the road. I get pushed around a bit by by tucks when towing a 4000lb camper so I’m hoping this will help.

These Bilstein shocks are awesome! I’ve always purchased Bilstein on all my vehicles. Installed in my 2018 Ford F-150 on the rear shocks. Super easy to install, seller had them for the best price anywhere! These shocks get rid of the bump hop that the factory rear shocks have, and make the truck more planted to the road, absorbing all Little Road imperfections and bumps. Helps with swaying of the truck and just overall makes a much better ride! Also eventually if and when I raise my truck, these will work with 0-2” lift! Worth every penny for these shocks! Highly recommend if your not trying to spend a fortune on new shocks, nothing beats Bilstein!

If your doing this by yourself, this may be a nightmare to install. I watched youtube videos of installing these and it Looked like a piece of cake, but WASN'T. My 2015 F150 had original shocks with 115K miles and I figured it was time to upgrade. Getting the old shock bolts off took some effort. If you don't have a Impact driver, I recommend using box wrenches, they give you more torque. I manually was able to get them off, but that wasn't the hard part. The hard part is that you have to compress the shocks by hand to get them to align with the mounting holes. I managed to get the passenger side in, but the driver's side is almost impossible to do by yourself, and I'm no weakling either. The compression strap kept falling off, making this even more difficult. After a frustrating hour of trying to get it in, I got my neighbor to help me compress the shock and finally got it. Doing this in the hot morning sun also made this even more fun. Be sure to use blue thread locker and torque the bolts to 66lbs afterwards.I've only driven about 5 miles since the install, but immediately noticed a difference and the rear end seemed to be a little firmer and higher (not in a bad way). I would think these would pair up perfectly with a 2.25" lift in the front. Worth the money, but I highly recommend getting someone to help you during the install.

These shocks completely changed the dynamics of the ride for my 2018 F150. Pulling my super lite 5th wheel, I used to get rocked all over the place when a truck blew past me. After these installing these shocks, nothing when I'm being passed. Ride may be a tiny bit stiffer than with the stock shocks, but it is well worth the trade off for much more stability! Highly recommended!

Bought these for my 2016 F150. It felt like the bed would jump around the road. Maybe due to the aluminum build vs. the old steel. I read others buying these and solving some of the issue.These were a great price so I gave it a shot. Install was easy. 30-45 minutes on my own. Hardest part was keeping the shock compressed on the bottom bracket when installing.I did notice a difference. You can still feel some bumps, probably due to the overall aluminum body, but definitely feels more grounded!

Threw these on my 2018 f150 xlt , that RWD ,One side I install the top part first and had to push up on the shock.. was super freakin hard and tiring , other side I install the bottom side first and push down on the top, went on a lot easier . Installed 5100 in the front and 5100 in the rear added with a rear sway bar ..the ride is perfect .

The play of the suspension is very smooth i'm impressed, planning to buy the 6112 for my front
