Definitely a good piece
Very surprised, I figured this thing would wear out pretty quickly, but I've been running this with my usgi surplus RHNO mount and they click together like they we made for each other by hand. Lots of trips, lots of bumps, lots of usage but no structural damage yet. Even the coating has help up well. Hopefully this mount will continue holding up

It's not like the correct dimensions are a secret
Oversize. Unserviceable. It's not like the correct dimensions are a secret. I know, I read the reviews that said "oversize" but I figured - how could anyone screw that up? Those people must be using some airsoft crap that doesn't fit well."Nope - it is oversize. Which is really stupid, as if it was tight, I could easily make it looser. Too loose - that's going to be a problem. Well, it's cheap enough I can try some set screws. Not worth returning but a big disappointment.

Good for the price but did not include mounting hardware.
Secures well onto ACH helmets. They're metal with a durable finish and accept NATO standard rhino mount. It holds securely and doesn't wobble or come loose if you buy the right mounting hardware, which is what brought diamond plate mounts into use (and the fact that they're intended to be snag free)Biggest problem is that they do not come with mounting hardware, the correct set costs over $10. There were a few rough edges from machining but they file out easily enough.

Item matches image
Hardware matches the mount, which I was a little concerned about since it doesn't show in the image. This is used just for decoration on my son's skateboard helmet, so I didn't need anything too robust. It is pretty light, so I wouldn't trust my NVGs to hang from it. I imagine something light like a GoPro would be perfectly fine.

Caveat emptor ("let the buyer beware")
It's not that I hate it, it's just that it has no functional value. Yes all the comments of the other review are correct; light weight, nice finish, comes with mounting hardware. It's just that it is all but useless. It looks to me like they tried to back-engineer the "Ops-Core" shroud (OSdream even sends the piece with "Ops-Core" pacageing material) but somebody in engineering either used a bad micrometer or something went a foul in the casting process because the unit is out of spec. my micrometer tells me the OSdream shroud is .013 of an inch to wide and .037 of an inch to long in the opening where any mounting plate has to go. So whatever piece of gear it stick in the shroud it will slop around like water in a wagon. Not the kind of fit you want to put gear you spent a hefty chunk of your hard earned money to get. As for this item, it has no reliable functional use and is not worth the time and trouble to send back. I have ordered the more expensive shroud. Yes it is thee times more expensive, but since military and law enforcment procurement departments tend to have zero tollerence for out of spec poor quality control gear I am confident it will work the way it is supposed to, and if it doesn't, I've got a company I can actually CALL and get at least answers if not a remedy without going through forms, emails and all the delays and impediments these firewalls appear to be designed to provide.

Good enough for 4 stars to me
Couple of issues up front. The screws are too short for a standard ACH. Second, some of the specs do seem a little out... that said, it wasn't anything I couldn't overcome for the price. Bought longer allen head socket cap screws and a couple pieces of tan velcro to stop the rattles of the rhino mount. Good enough for 4 stars to me.

Easy install with the right tools
Drilled in very well! I wish the hardware was steel instead of aluminum, it was difficult to tighten the screws without stripping. But, serves the purpose and fits snugly to the helmet!

strip very easily. Not the threads
Fit on real deal NVG gear is a little loose. Screws that are provided are cheap, strip very easily. Not the threads, but the Phillips heads themselves strip down to nothing.
