Update: Replacement Came // Dead On Arrival
Update:Replacement unit came, works well on both 110v & 220v(Naturally, on the lower voltage at the same amperage the arc seems weaker)(Bump it up 10 amps)I especially enjoy the buttery smooth arc that I am not accustomed to from my old AC machines. This DC welder definitely likes clean metal to strike an arc!My AC machines blast through anything.(Paint, dirt, grease, mud, rust, etc.)The accessories and cords have excellent feel and functionality. The stinger has outrageously awesome spring tension. All of the wires have overrated capacity and are nicely flexible (very impressed).I am very pleased with the service I received from the distributor regarding the handling of replacing my first machine!!!I CANNOT EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION ENOUGH!However, on the same note they should improve their Quality Control and test every machine before it leaves.(My second machine was definitely tested before it shipped, re-packaged)I just want to give a shout-out to AHP's tech support staff, congratulating their A+ efforts! Thanks You Mike K. and Jean!-----------OLD REVIEW:Inferior product, paid for a better welder.Had high hopes from this Up-In-coming (seemingly reputable) company.Note to AHP: will update rating after replacement

Best welder for under $300.
This is an awesome welder. It is better than expected, I tried out the everlast 160st but the arc and duty cycle just can't compare. I have only used 3/32 7018 with 120v. The arc on 7018 was comparable to the Miller xmt 350. For a machine that is under $300 it is worth every penny. I haven't gotten a chance to go to my friends place to try it with the 240v. I have been practicing my cap on pipes and this machine is just amazing. You would expect this small machine to run hot when using it for 3-4hrs straight. 90+ degree temperature outside and this machine still ran smooth and cool. It's amazing quiet and the duty cylce is just unbelievable. 120v 90amp and you can get 100% duty cylce who would've thought a small machine will have such duty cycle. This machine is new on the market and if you are looking for a welder under $300, this is the one to go with. The ground clamp is not build, it has a braided copper wire which provides even ground. The stinger is really nice and high quality, compare to the everlast 160st, this stinger is not cheaply built. Love the fact that it has a built in cover that can protect the knob and front panel. I would recommend upgrading the leads to 20ft at least, 10ft is a bit too short. I can't say anything about the tig part due to not having any Argon. Overall, best machine not around its price range comes close to what this machine offers.Pros:Duty cylceQuietLightweightRuns extremely coolSmooth arcHigh quality ground clamp and stingerCons:Non

WOW! Amazing little welder!
Welder arrived today well packaged. I don't have the correct 220 receptacle yet so I tried it out on 110, and I'm really impressed so far. Ran some 3/32 7018 & 6011 from 80 to 110 Amps with no problems at all utilizing a 20A circuit. Plenty of power, in fact it ran so well on 110 I might just use it that way as it makes it so handy. The leads are plenty long and well-constructed. Very light and easy to move to where you are working. I'm amazed such a small box can put out this much power. This would be really handy on a farm or worksite, since it does so well on 110, all you need is a decent circuit and maybe a 25 ft. Extension cord. It strikes an arc easily and isn't prone to sticking.

Don't let the tiny size fool you, this thing is a work horse.
After owning a MIG welder for over a decade, I decided I needed to add another pony to the stable in the form of a stick welder. I saw some favorable reviews of this unit online and purchased it based on the reviews of a couple youtube personalities. When it arrived I was shocked by how small it is! That small size does not seem to hold it back at all though. I burned through many sticks of 1/8" 6011 to get my sea legs followed by a few sticks of 1/8" 7018 by which point my welds were almost pretty. I am very satisfied with the performance. I have not tried the 110 volt plug it came with yet but it is nice to know I could if needed. The good: Small, powerful, digital display, TIG capable, 110 or 220, decent stinger and ground clamp. The bad: "user manual" is doesn't contain much useful information. I am quite happy with it for the price. I don't know if it is suitable for a professional setting but around the house or farm this is a powerful little tool and well worth the money.
