There's a shelf above my ceramic stove. My kitten climbs on it (as kittens do). One day, he knocked off a heavy glass jar. It crashed, smack dab, right in the middle of the stove (a stove that we had only had for a month or so, mind you.) Needless to say, I nearly had a heart attack.Got lucky... no major damage, but I knew right then and there that I had to protect the darn thing, so let's just head over to Amazon and peruse the wares!Found this Abra stove top cover and decided to give it a go.Thumbs up. It's good. Not only does it protect my stove, it looks nice doing it... that is, until little kitten claws snagged it. But that's only aesthetics; the mat itself could probably take a real beating and still come out a winner.Not only does it protect my stove, but it added additional workspace for me! Yep, that's right. Cover your stove with this and it basically increases counter space. No more worry about placing items (canisters, utensil holders, all that good stuff) on the stove. It's literally covered; you're good to go.With that being said, I wouldn't slap a cutting board down on it and go to town with some juicy tomatoes or something, as the top is kind of a satin fabric, and I doubt you could toss the thing into the washer, as it's got a nice thick rubber back on it. It's sort of a spot clean only kind of thing, and I've stained mine, like an idiot. But it's black, so it's not very noticeable.Five Stars. Are there better stove covers out there? Who knows? Possibly, but this one works just fine and dandy for my needs. Just keep in mind to measure your stove and order the right size for you.

This stove top cover looks attractive and adds and important layer of protection for the stove top. This is our first experience with an electric stove and a glass top one at that. A friend recommended this and so I went with it. It hasn't disappointed. Looks good and protects well. Easy to wipe off as needed.

I bought this because my microwave is right above my stove, thus the stovetop gets used as a counter often. With 5 people in my house, I was tired of cleaning off the stovetop every time I wanted to use it. This product fits my stovetop perfectly, and can easily be wiped off! Just roll it up when you want to use it and roll it back on when you are done. I love that you can put it on even before the burners cool down, as it is heat-resistant! The only thing I didn't like was that I could not get the hooks to stick to my tile backsplash. I put them on, waited, and then hooked the loops sewn into the cover, but the hooks fell off the wall almost as soon as I let go! But, the product itself is great!

My old range had a very strong tempered glass top than lasted for two decades, but my new range seems fragile and reviewers say it scratches easily. This cover means less worry about random drops of utensils or food spilling from the microwave on the glass surface. I'm still looking for a good place to store it when not it use, but if I can find a place to hang it the hanging tabs will be handy.

The media could not be loaded.  I began searching for the wooden stove top covers to create extra countertop space for when I wasn’t using my stove. (My teenaged stepson likes to carry all the groceries in at once and then plunk them down on the counter top and sometimes the ceramic stovetop. I’ve been afraid he would damage the cooktop accidentally.) With the large plank-type covers, I was also unsure what to do with such a large piece of rigid material when I was using my stove. I came across this ABRA flexible mat-like stovetop cover during my initial online Amazon search. It comes with adhesive hooks to adhere it to the side of the fridge or the stove front for storage. Much easier to hang aside. It could easily be rolled up and tucked aside too. It is thick without being too thin and thin without being overly thick. The edges are seamed and the hanging loops are sewn securely in place. The underside is grippy so the mat doesn’t slide around. I’m very happy with this purchase. This is an “extra” item in the kitchen that you wouldn’t think that you need that you really do enjoy once you have it. I wasn’t thinking about other perks to having this mat but our microwave is built into the cabinet over the stovetop. Oftentimes, we remove items from the microwave that are hot or messy and sit them on the stovetop. This protects the stovetop from dropped bowls or residue rings from mugs or mac-n-cheese cups. I’ve wiped it down with a damp sponge and it looks great. I think I read that it could be washed in the dishwasher? I haven’t tried that yet. I also appreciated the silicone strips that lie alongside your range to prevent crumbs and liquids from spilling down the side of your stove. They’re pretty sturdy and not flimsy, subpar silicone.

I purchased this mat to extend the beauty life of my flat top but also to keep it clean. Whenever someone uses the overhead microwave, they always rests the plate cover on the stove and I was constantly cleaning food drippings and steam off the stove. My mat is black although it looks bronze in a few pictures. The size is 28.5x20.5. I love love love this thing and so do my guests who have seen it for the first time. I’ve become a bit of a trendsetter because a few friends and neighbors have looked into purchasing one for themselves. I love the price and being able to keep it on the flat top while using the oven. I haven’t used the hook feature on the back yet. Not sure I will but I like having the option. I just wish it came rolled up instead of folded. Those creases were aggravating but I’m persnickety. They went away after a short time.

Protects the glass top stove and fits perfectly! Very neat looking, too! LOVE!

The mat itself is great, doesn’t slip, helps to have extra counter space in a small kitchen, keeps glass top clean and scratch free. However, I bought the light blue color and it’s a nightmare to clean. Spot cleaning does not work, I’ve tried every kind of sponge and scrubber brush. It stains immediately and deeply, nothing I’ve tried will get these stains out. 🤷🏼‍♀️I don’t have a dishwasher so will throw it into the washing machine to see what happens but if that doesn’t work it’s going in the trash and will have to get a black one.

I initially really liked this cover but after only four days, one of the fabric hooks ripped at the seam attaching it to the cover. We didn't do anything other than hang it up. It's inconvenient to have to find somewhere to put the cover while cooking if it can't be hung, so it's quite disappointing given that it was a pricey item. Not worth the money!
