An joyful labor of love...
...and a delight to any fan of Frank Baums' classic "Oz" series. A good, solid and playable game with simple rules (this is not a combat heavy system) and excellent guidelines for creating appropriate Oz-like characters. My only complaint is that the lands outside of Oz are mentioned but not detailed. Oh well...that's not much of a complaint. There's a LOT of information in this books 135 pages, including how to play such obscure and unusual Oz inhabitants as the Thists', Hammerheads, Horners, Fuddles, Teddy Bears (yes, the animated toy teddy bears from "Princess of Oz"), Winged Monkeys, as well as any of the regular human-like inhabitants of the Emerald City, Gillikin, Munchkin, Quadling or Winkie Countries. Make a character from one of these lands a Scholar, Wanderer, Child, Soldier, Noble, Sorcerer, Crafted Person (Scarecrows, Ragdolls and such) or simply make a Large or Small Animal (talking if you'd like) and set off on an adventure in Oz. All in all, an excellent book.

This looks like a great
This looks like a great, simple system for Oz-based roleplaying games! I haven't run it yet, but I'd feel comfortable running this for kids as well as adults. I love all the background information it includes from the books, as well as the sample character sheets. The artwork is pretty cute, too.

Kindle formatting is awful
I returned this for a refund. It's not formatted for Kindle, with page breaks and differing font sizes all over the place, and worse, any time I tried to read it my iPad screen rotated the image 90 degrees. Is it a great game? Beats me. Maybe I'll give the dead tree version a whirl at some point, but this was a wreck of a digital book.

It's great for beginners
This is my go to example for a game that scales in difficulty and emphasizes relationships and cooperation over combat and loot. It's great for beginners, but also challenges more practiced role-players to get back to the basics of a fun character solving problems with the tools they have. Whether those tools are quick thinking, being tall, knowing a wizard, or the ability to conduct electricity. It's also one of my favorites for game-day at the library as it has a really thoughtful section examining the books and the world of Oz for gaming. Playing this game with friendship tokens that actually assemble into friendship bracelets is a great day with kids waiting to happen. Completely recommend, and looking forward to playing again!

A great addition to the enthusiast's set
If you're a fan of roleplay and of Oz, you'll love Mr. Wall's setup. I loved the details and imagination of what he has done here, and I wish him great success with this endeavor.

It's... uhm... It's good. I'm not good at these. But it's good.
