Undercover Brother
P**K
An underrated hilarious comedy
I think Undercover Brother and Eddie Griffin are criminally underrated. This movie is a non-stop laugh fest as Griffin joins with The Brotherhood to try to take down The Man who is launching an evil plot to brainwash black people.First off the cast is fantastic. Griffin plays a secret agent type character. He’s matched with Aunjanue Ellis as Sistah Girl an agent for The Brotherhood. Dave Chappelle is Conspiracy Brother who is paranoid about everything such as when Griffin says hello which he takes as standing for kill black people. Chris Kattan is The Man’s main henchman who actually likes black culture like when he can’t help but dance to a Mary J. Blige song. Denise Richards is She Devil sent by The Man to seduce Griffin and spoil his mission. Neil Patrick Harris was an affirmative action hiree by The Brotherhood which is led by Chi McBride. Billy Dee Williams is the General who wants to run for president. Even James Brown shows up.The scenes are hilarious. I’ve watched this movie multiple times and it’s never gotten old. I still laugh every time I see Griffin and Richards singing Ebony and Ivory at a Karaoke bar of Harris being called a sissy by some security guards.

Love this Movie - Funny!
This movie is a laugh fest from start to end. The cast and writing are both perfection. This is not a "put down movie", it's a fun romp. The "Blackman's Kryptonite" part had me rolling on the floor. The (fully clothed) shower scene was hilarious. And so much more. Denise Richard... ah I fell in love with her when I saw this in the movies when it first came out. But really all of the cast are great and the writing doesn't have for a single flat moment. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be entertained.

How Did I Miss This One?!
As a general rule, I typically do not like Africamerican "Comedy" movies, as they are frequently awash in of many of the more common ethnic cliches and stereotypes, which is actually fair game in such satirical offerings, but they are all too often portrayed in ways which come across as unsympathetically insulting, degrading, and overall disrespectful and offensive, and in most cases not humorous at all, many times bordering on Minstrel-like coonery -- in other words, not exactly my idea of a good time.I've been only [very] vaguely familiar with "Undercover Brother" for about the past couple of years, primarily due to a particular clip from the film which was often used as a "point-maker" within a certain circle of highly opinionated "social commentators" who frequent select online discussion groups. Already having made the assumption that this film was essentially going to be more of the same, I had continued to give it a pass. However, just a couple of days ago as of this typing (and I honestly still cannot recall what exactly had triggered it), my curiosity was finally sparked enough to actually make the conscious decision to sit through this movie for at least a single viewing.I've sat through (or often more accurately, "tried to") a number of other "Blaxploitation" parody movies before (which attempt to satirize a genre of film making that was frequently an unintentional parody of itself) and found them utterly unfunny and face-palmingly groan-inducing. So imagine my surprise when I found myself IMMEDIATELY laughing-up a storm and feeling highly entertained throughout this movie! For someone who has never been a huge fan of "comedy" movies of any type anyway (I can "watch" them and be somewhat "entertained" by certain ones and even be able to relate to whatever "messages" they're intending to convey, but very rarely could it be said that I'm "impressed" by them), this movie kept me engrossed throughout its entire run... even certain spots in the movie which I felt were a little "cringe-worthy" were handled so well and restrained from the temptation to go over-the-top that I never found myself in a situation of having "nervous" laughter -- this movie took something that had every potential to make it into another racially-based groan-fest and put something together with such skill and care (and I dare say "respect" for the subject matter) that it produced something that wound up hitting almost all the right notes. How "Undercover Brother" slipped under my radar screen when it was first released (another case of inadequate promotion, perhaps?) I'll never understand, but I'm happy to have "un-undercovered" gem.

Very Funny
I like most comedies and this has become a favorite. It's exciting, action filled, has a lot of twists and turns and very important I feel good after it has gone off. Movie make you laugh if you're into that kind of thing

Hilarious Movie!
This movie was very funny when I saw it years ago! Eddie Griffin was hilarious as "Undercover Brother"; Dave Chappelle was also hilarious as "Conspiracy Brother"; Chi McBride was funny as "The Chief" but I found Billy Dee Williams was sooo hilarious as "General Boutwell", a General Colin Powell- like character whose mind is altered to keep from running for President of the United States. The other actors were funny as well and I couldn't stop laughing my head off! I thought the fight between "Undercover Brother" and "Mr. Feather" was silly but in the end it's "Undercover Brother" and company to the rescue.

2 Thumbs Up
I LOVE this movie! Great takeoff of 1970s "blaxploitation" movies. On behalf of the B.R.O.T.H.E.R.H.O.O.D. organization, Undercover Brother (Eddie Griffin) fights The Man's evil agenda. Unforgettable characters, like White She-Devil (Denise Richards), Conspiracy Brother (Dave Chappelle), Sistah Girl (Aunjanue Ellis), and Mr. Feather (Chris Kattan). Great dialogue: "Blackness confirmed - you got soul!" and "You mess with the 'fro, you got to go!" are just two examples of many great lines.

Laughed my ass off. This movie doesn't get enough credit. Not many people even know it's out there.

Goofy Spy film
My son told me that this is much better than SPIED HARD, and I have to agree. Very funny and some outrageous acting from the principals. Some racial stereotyping, but all done very tongue-in-cheek. Worth the time.
