Bea in the Nutcracker Hardcover – Picture Book, October 6, 2015

The littles love Bea at Ballet and this was a wonderful companion book to add to our collection at the holidays.

My 3-year-old was delighted with this book as one of her Christmas presents. We love and often read the original Bea at Ballet and this book is similar and equally wonderful. I love the very simple overview of The Nutcracker. This book is a great introduction to the holiday story.

Good book. Very simplified. Which is ok.But the copy I got is used. But no where near Good quality at best Acceptable. Library copy with torn pages at lest three pages have thorns.

Young ballerinas and ballet aficionados will enjoy this story of young children in a ballet performance of the classic The Nutcracker. Bea is going to be Clara and Sam is going to be the Prince. Other dancers perform the parts of the mice, the snowflakes and the flowers. There is even a candy cane! And a sugar plum fairy. The costumes are great fun.This book tells the basic story showing the children dancing the parts. When I was in first grade we had a Christmas Tree at school with sugar plums on them, and I thought they were very magical. It was just shiny colored paper with ribbon with candies inside on the tree. We each got one, and I still remember it.This book would be great to read to a young child before going to the ballet of The Nutcracker, or listening to the music. It will be especially appealing to young dancers. It's a welcoming way to make a classic come alive.
