Pros:-It holds my cell phone very snugly! I tested it first by shaking it very hard over my couch (in case it slipped) and my phone didn't budge!-The rubber X piece on the back that holds it to my vent is also strong. Went over some crazy potholes that sent my groceries rolling around, and again, my phone didn't budge.Kinda-Cons?:-It might only be my order, but the clip doesn't rotate 360 degrees when it's attached to my vent. Maybe I read the description wrong? To rotate, you must take it off, rotate, and then slip it back on. I prefer this method because I think it keeps it stable, and I really shouldn't be messing with my phone too much while driving. Once it goes on the clip, I shouldn't have to worry about it snipping or slipping.

This product is an excellent value. I do not expect it to be as utilitarian, rigid or adjustable as my Ram Mount. But it's excellent for keeping in the glove box of wife's car for when I drive it and need a phone holder. Very easy to take in luggage for using in rental cars.I've seen other comments on the rubber grips coming off, but with the model I have, the rubber grip fingers are a one-piece molding and seem to be sturdy. I am careful when removing, so as to avoid the possibility of them coming off.The vents on my Toyota 4Runner provide a nice, tight mount structure for this product. The vent style on my Subaru Outback make the ventaclip mount floppier and less rigid. This is clearly going to be something that works better on some cars than on others.I think the value, utility and quality for the money are excellent. It's great for the niche that it's designed for. Do not expect this to work like a $60-$120 dash or window mounted phone holder.

I originally reviewed this product a few days ago, but the review was mainly an indictment against the USPS because they DID NOT deliver the product to me. Amazon sent a replacement - and it arrived this past Saturday. Thus, this review is for the product I originally ordered.THE VENTACLIP Smartphone Car Mount is an excellent product: it is extremely functional in being able to hold a smart phone so you can easily see it, without distraction, while driving. Further, it is very attractive as a fixture on an AC/Heating vent. I have ordered this type of smartphone holder from others in the past - and the VentaClip is by far THE BEST. And, it is very reasonably priced, much less than other brands. I likely will buy more of these and give to friends and relatives.

DO NOT BUY! I was fooled by what must be fake comments. This does not work at all. Not only does it not do what it is advertised to do, but it messed up my phone as well. My iPhone spazzed out and wouldn't turn on after I plugged it in. It reset about 8 times before I could even attempt to put in my passcode. I will be getting a full refund and want other buyers to know how awful this product is. Don't be fooled like I was.

Works on both a Nissan Leaf 2012 and Nissan Sentra 2001. Been using it daily for 2 weeks without any issues.-Takes some force to get it on the vent, but not enough force that I though I'd break the vent.- iPhone 6 is secure so no issues there.- Blocks the vent, but then it's kinda hard not to block the vent using a vent clip.- Price was nearly half of the original airframe vent clip, so yay!- If this thing only lasts for a year, I'd say I've gotten my money's worth.- Hard to put a phone in with one hand, it's doable, but probably not what you want to be doing while driving.I would give it 5 stars, but I'll see how long it lasts first...

It holds the phone tight and the phone does not fall off. Everything is good about it except that the clip is a little short. The air vents on modern cars are rarely straight these days and have some curvature, because of that whole clip is not in contact with the grill and has slight play, but even then it holds good. On Honda Civic 2014, with LCD touch screen right next to air vent, while putting the phone in the mount, I invariably touch the screen accidentally changing the settings. I tried a couple of other ones, but settled for this one in the end. I feel it is a little costly for a piece of plastic and a spring.

At first I was really excited about this clever device and the convenient location it took for me to see my iPhone when I used it as a GPS. Then I started to have some issues with it... First, if you use it with your heat on it can quickly overheat your phone and cause it to shut off since it is directly in the line of the air flow, so I always had to put the heat on the setting for it to only come out by my feet. Second, the vents are round and slightly non traditional in my car and it was difficult to get the device to fit properly so that it would stay, but using the tighter clamps I could. But finally, I noticed the rubber clamps were breaking and posts came sticking through which badly scratched and damaged the vents it clamped onto. I would not recommend this product.

I absolutely love this vent clip. It has made using my smartphone for navigation SO much easier - and legal since its handsfree! If you are attached to your phone while driving like I am, this is a very worthy investment. It snaps on any vent easily and is expandable to fit any phone easily. So great you can take it anywhere you need it as well - if you were using a rental car or using someone else's car.
