Works great at a work setting but with any device even large cables can be cut so I still would not let my computer be out for periods of time where the general public is roaming . Your best security is your eyes but this does help if you were at an airport or work where you are alone and need to take a quick rest room break . Or if you leave it in the open at a hotel room .
