Zildjian Professional Wire Brushes, Retractable

I purchased these for my husband who was in need of some brushes to practice his jazz percussion sound. I loved the fact that these were retractable and the pull rods were nice and smooth without binding. He was very impressed with the brushes’ ability to control how or little he can fan out the wires for producing different sounds. He also liked the gauge of the wire used in the brush and the light feel of the handles. He says that they have a nice balance to them and that the wire is just right as far as not being too soft or stiff. I am not an expert in this area, and I had to read up on what I needed to look for when determining what to buy for him. I think I did okay, because he really seems to enjoy them and I have heard him practicing with them already- which is a good sign. Overall, I am pleased with these brushes and I am certain my husband was too. According to the other reviews, they seem to be pretty good quality brushes and look as though they will last a while since they appear to be well made.

Our 6 year old kid saw "arithamatic", a man playing a math song with brushes.. thought it might inspire our kid and it did. Just left them around and he uses them. Great to have some variations to play with if wants to try different things. I like that when he uses them he doesn't have to put on his ear protection headphone things and I can stay in room longer if he wants to play something for me. They seem to retract fine and no issues here. That they retract is a nice concept for a kid to absorb if he /she is at all mechanical too for future innovation. ; )

The wire on them is nice and sort of soft. But I like very fancy music implements and these sort of look like something I might have used way back in high school. I accidentally ordered wire instead of nylon. My Turkish drum head can only take a nylon brush. Instead of sending them back I realized they make fantastic basters. My cooking basters which had some sort of hair on the brushes fell apart in my dishwasher and I needed some basters. These Zildjian Drum Brushes will look fantastic hanging in my kitchen as my food basters (I am a vegetarian.) They add more music to my kitchen so I am pleased with them, and the Zildjian logo is in gold.

I bought these to use on a washboard for percussion. They work great for that. I only use one at a time so these should last for a good long time. I like the rubber handles. The brushes are easy to retract and push out. I can even use the wire end for louder percussion on the washboard.I can't speak as a drummer, but these do the trick for me.

This is a very well built piece overall. I like the handle and the fact that it's retractable. I was a bit disappointed with the "firmness" of the brushes. Though they have 2 notches on the end to adjust the length and thus the spread of the bristles, they were not firm enough to get any kind of clear roll out of it. Sounds great on snare, toms, and cymbals but it doesn't have any bounce on a closed high hat.Overall I'm happy with my purchase and I am eager to really get the hang of these brushes. I got these a couple weeks ago, and I have enjoyed using them. For first-time brushes, they were perfect: easy-to-use, quality sound, etc. The only thing I didn't like was that the wires were a little loose. I don't know if they're supposed to be like that (just an amateur) but they seemed too soft at times. I think they could stand to be made a little firmer, but that's about it.

These brushes came about 4 days early, and in great shape too. The brushes slide out with ease, so they don't get stuck like some of them can. Not sure about the little grooves in the bottom; I feel like the brushes could extend out a little more. Other than that, a great pair to use.

They make a sound similar to playing with bare hands. If you dont want to overpower your guitarist in a residential area, these are a pretty decent choice.

Such good quality, that your only concern after purchase is losing them somewhere. They come in a nice quality transparent box to keep them in good shape! A great gift for any drummer friend.

Zildjian products are the best. These brushes give me just what I want. Much better than nylon though they have to be taken better care of. The weight is just right and the length of the wire can be adjusted.
