Easy to read and see
This is the third thermometer I bought for my fish pond. I could either not read or see the numbers on the other two. This one has great big numbers and it is perfect. I would rather have black but it is okay in white. If it floats away in pond, I'll be able to see it.

Easy to read and the top comes off so that the thermometer will sink a bit in the pool
I like that the thermometer doesn't have to stay at the top of the pool and can sink a bit, to get a more accurate reading of the water temperature. On the other hand, I'm not sure of its accuracy. It seems to read a bit warmer than the water actually is.

Worked Great, Doesn't Last
Algae growth inside the tube and no easy way to clean it. It lasted under a year before the dial became impossible to view. I tried rinsing and soaking to no avail. I'd like to find something better designed to last, and am willing to pay more for quality, just can't find anything. I used this in my koi pond, and my water is crystal clear, yet the inside glass is green.

Floats and easy to read
it floats well and appears to be accurate. Also easy to read.

Wont last in a chlorine pool
Cheap , did not last. Thermometer holder inside corroded and broke. Lanyard disintegrated.

Buy something else. Used 3 months before the fluid split.
I've had many pool thermometers over the years. None of them had the fluid separate, ever. This one was placed in our uncovered pool for 6 weeks last summer until it got too cold to swim. We put it back in in late April and 3 weeks later the fluid split.
