Comparing the Ovation Air Cam to the Aircast boot.
The Ovation (Medium size) weighs 41.1 ounces. The plastic part is 16.5 inches tall and the soft liner comes up to 18 inches. The sole is about 3/4 inch thick in the front and 1.25 inches at the thickest. It has 5 straps and 1 pump. The hard plastic comes up on each side of the leg 2-3 inches wide while the front and back of the leg is soft material. The Aircast for the same size weighs 46.8 ounces. The plastic part is 16 inches tall and the soft liner comes up to 17.25 inches. The sole is about 1 inch thick in the front and 1.5 inches at the thickest. It has 3 straps and 3 pumps. The hard plastic encircles the leg on three sides and there is an additional plastic piece in front so the leg is completely enclosed. Our doctor's practice got $322 for the Aircast boot. The Ovation is taller (at the plastic sides), but there is no plastic at the back where it might hit the back of the knee joint on a short person. (The soft fabric could be trimmed.)EDIT: After 4 weeks of alternating between the two boots, my wife ended up using the Aircast a bit more than the Ovation because the Aircast was more stable. It was not a big difference though.

This boot was much more comfortable and looked so much better than the ones they provide at Kaiser Hospitals. The padded portion of the boot left a little to be desired though. The actual sz med. Boot fit great but padded portion of the boot was too short as my toes hung over the padding but we're at least 1.5 inches from the end of the boot so I removed the padded portion of the boot and replaced it with the padding from the Kaiser boot. Now I have a boot that fits and feels great. The padding on this boot should be more substantial and the straps should never touch your skin.

I have it for differnt purporose than it may be intented
I struggle with healing my plantar fasciitis and brought this cam booth as my solution to keep my foot still without pain and at same time be able work - construction. To keep my foot in comfortable position I had installed insoles I felt good about; hard, high arch and also with possibility of custom molding (my own choice as well).I was using it over good 8 months and destroyed 2 of them. 1st one god damaged by my negligence = breaking air valve.2nd was used to maximum of its usability, to the point that bottom rubber was worn out.To even help more to my healing process I bought additional boot to sleep with, which keep my foot stretched = less pain in morning when walking. And again to help more to my healing I used to massage my foot with frozen can of pop, just roll my foot over it.It was very good helper for me. Now I am using short version and trying to star slowly walking without it on weekends.

Very usefull
Its a good product. but a little difficult to set right the first time, It comes with written instructions but without images or diagrams. The boot is very good and prevents swelling. I recommend to use it in combination with a tall boot or another shoe that has tall soles to match the height of the walking boot. It will improve your movement.

Three Stars
Heavy and hot but did function well for stabilizing a severely sprained ankle.

It doesn't seem like much but it does feel lighter and the shape makes it easier to walk in. I wish they would have put the inflator on the side and made it so that you could turn it so it doesn't inflate if you lean on it. I got a knee walker which was a life saver but when I use it it inflates the boot and I have to stop constantly to let the air out.

This supplier not very good. Makes Ovation Medical look bad.
Since 27th of Dec. I have not received this product from this supplier. Before, I got walker from ovation medical directly with no issues. The walker is a good boot. Sturdy.
