My goto for accelerated healing and reducing the amount of pain meds needed after knee surgery
I have used the Game Ready RICE system for more than a decade now. It has withstood heavy use and the only maintenance I've needed to perform has been to replace the rubber o-rings at the hose connections.I like some of the wraps better than others - the straight knee, straight elbow, ankle and wrist wraps work well and are easy to set up. I use the food-grade silicone spray recommended by Game Ready on the hose connections and I recommend this. I bought my o-rings in a master set (containing all three sizes of o-rings needed) online.Pros:- generally easy to set up and use- accelerates healing and recovery- good variety of treatment programs- reduces pain meds needed- replacement parts such as the outer sleeves for the wraps can be purchased easily- all wraps, hoses and power supplies can be used with any Game Ready system: V1, 2.0, Pro2.1Cons:- needs a good supply of ice cubes- some wraps are challenging to put on by myself, especially if one of my arms/shoulders/hands is laid-up- initial purchase is expensive

Get this!
After my surgery, I had a hard time getting my seedling in control… until I got this?! Yea… it’s pricey but I absolutely swear by this. At the end of the day when your feet is swollen and aching, this… THIS is the answer. I do 20 minutes every night and it just freezes(?) my pain away, ha! It’s great.

Broken part and absurd cost for repairs
I have had my Game Ready for 4 years now and have had a few problems with leaking. We were able to fix the first problem but this time, there was leaking in the tubing under the computer. Game Ready wanted us to spend $495 to send it to them PLUS shipping PLUS 8 weeks for them to fix it and return it!!! We took it apart and found a few parts needed to be replaced so my husband reached out to Game Ready and they refused to allow us to buy the parts. This is their quoted response: "Unfortunately, the part number in question, K266-001 is not a saleable part as it is considered proprietary. If you would like to send the unit in for repair at our service center, please provide the serial number of the unit and the shipping and billing address." So we found the parts at Home Depot and my husband fixed it himself for $11!! It is absurd they want us to lose our device for 8 weeks and spend $500 plus for an $11 fix!! I can't buy any other Game Ready product because of this. Just beware if you have a problem with your unit, you are going to deal with that. Find a handyman to fix it yourself.

Totally awesome device
My current physical therapist uses this on my total knee replacement -- it is totally awesome!! The hospital should have used this instead of the difficult to deal with cold care (not mentioning the name) unit they sent me home with that requires filling up the cooler with ice cubes and water, affixing the foam cooling pad (similar to a table placemat) where you want the cooling to go with an Ace bandage wrap and then you have to deal with the cold hose running from the ice cooler to the pad, and the unit is fairly loud . . . unless you have a caregiver doing this for you, this cold care operation becomes overwhelming with all the other things you're dealing with post-TKR. With the Game Ready you simply place the leg sleeve under your leg and close it, turn it on, you're good to go. It compresses and cools at the same time. I'm thinking I wouldn't have ended up with 3 blood clots (no genetic factors involved) had they used this compression cooling device on my surgical leg, it would have kept the blood circulating in my leg. Would someone please buy this for me? lol ;-)

Greatly overpriced
I rented it for $600 for 2 weeks after the hip replacement. Two weeks is the only option. I used it for 2 days and switched to gel ice packs, which made me feel more comfortable and the result looked the same. For such a price this machine at least should make ice itself
