While small, only 64 pages, this book is filled with some great ideas. The perfect starting point for making your own boozy shakes.There are basic recipes including vanilla ice cream, strawberry sorbet, and a variety of sauces you'll need to make the shakes. The Whiskey Butterscotch sauce is a standout for me.Every recipe is beautifully photographed, the measurements are in both imperial and metric. I've had a lot of fun with this in just a week. There aren't a lot of recipes but they all provide a great framework to use a a jumping point for making your own creations.I think it's a good value for the price, the recipes have all come out the way they were supposed to and the instructions are well written and easy to follow. This would be a the perfect add on gift if you are buying someone a blender for a shower or house warming gift.

I agree with Andrea, the previous reviewer. This is a good *starting point* to make your own boozy milkshakes, but some of the stuff the author suggests doing is just WAY too complicated. Make my own vanilla ice cream? I think not. Last time I checked, I could buy a pretty decent gallon down at the supermarket for a fraction of the cost and effort.That said, as I was reviewing the recipes with my significant other, I started getting ideas for how we could formulate our own boozy milkshakes, and make them work for our tastes.If you buy this book, skip all the silliness about making your own ice cream - buy it at the store, for heaven's sake. While you're at it, skip out on most of the handmade sauces and compotes, and just use Torani(tm) or some similar brand of flavored syrup for stuff like lime, ginger, raspberry, strawberry, and whatnot. Instead of searching the ends of the earth for exotic flavored ice creams (like ginger), just add the flavored syrup to vanilla ice cream. For some of the fruity flavors, you might be better off using sorbet, instead.Try it. I do appreciate the author's offering these inspirations, but don't feel obliged to follow them to the letter. Make boozy milkshakes with stuff you already have, if at all possible.

Bought this as a present for a friend, they absolutely loved it and insisted we began making boozy cocktails that evening! There are a lot to pick from so you'll definitely be able to find one you'll love.The recipes come with easy to follow steps and trust me, that all taste great.

Bought as a gift, recipient loves it, the best part is all the sauces and particular ingredients that would normally leave you hunting food stores for the right product all have their own recipes listed in the back! Perfect!
