Cute Book To Reinforce the Maker of the Mess is the Cleaner of the Mess
This is one of several of the books of this series I purchased for my kindle after I noticed that our son seemed to find the kindle versions more motivating. For our little man, who has some more specialized needs, he's pretty much a mess making ninja, and this is something we've been working on for a while in various incarnations. Right now, the current stand is over him emptying out his entire dresser and removing all of the red balls from his ball pit every night. We're for the moment ignoring his fondness for dumping all of his blocks behind his bed and just leaving them there after each occasion and waiting for him to request them. If he wants them, he can ask for them and help clean them at that time to get them out.So, we clean the other two up every morning though, and at present, it still requires an ABA reinforcer to get the job done. I bought this book because it's very simple in the sentence structure and reinforces the idea that if you make a mess, you need to be the one to pick it up. I think this book would be stronger with a why, like "we clean messes so people don't trip on things and get hurt" or "we put things away so they don't get ruined," but I know point blank our sweet little dude doesn't give a crud about whether or not most things get ruined, and I'm pretty sure if he could verbalize it, he'd just say "well, why don't you just watch where you're going? You can see my line of balls from all the way across the room...geesh, how hard could it be to avoid that!!!" So, I'm pretty sure this is one of those areas where the why isn't going to be as helpful because social why's like "it makes people happy" that you use for why we say 'hi' don't hold a lot of weight with him at this time. It's more about what he wants to do and what he doesn't want to do.So our approach has been more towards "You made the mess, you clean up the mess (every bit of it). You make less mess, you have less mess to clean." And our little man does not like to clean, not even a little bit, so that I think is where our hope rests on this one. I'm on the verge of being cautiously optimistic we're near the end of the dresser battle for now because we've gone three days without the dresser being emptied, and he's only pulled out 6 or 7 balls the last few days. But I think it's nice to have a book the reinforce with him that the mess maker is the mess cleaner, and I think this book does a good job of that. And I like that it's got Little Tiger roaring in a couple of spots, because that's a sound he is willing to make without a motivator attached to the other end, so it's a fun thing to do when we're reading it. I also chuckled a bit that all of the books Little Tiger picks up are from this Hello Genius line...can't blame them for advertising that way ;)As I said, this is a hill we've been on a while, I don't imagine this is going to fix every problem we've ever had with this, but it's a nice support. I'd say probably best for a developmentally typical 18-24 month old kiddo, but for our son who is 5 and has developmental delays and some specialized needs, I still find this very useful.

Very cute book
My grandson loves this little book. But he’s still not keen on cleaning up. I’m hoping with the help of books like this one he will get it eventually!

Favorite Hello Genius Book
We have a few - Bear Says Thank You, Duck Goes Potty, Little Elephant Listens, and this one, Little Tiger Picks Up. After only a couple days, our 2 year old "reads" it to herself....we've read it THAT much....over and over and over. She doesn't care as much about the others. We then play it out "Pick up your toys, little Annika" "Pick up your books, little Annika" So far it has been a great motivation book. Unfortunately, Duck Goes Potty hasn't had the same effect...Next purchase will be the Naptime for Kitty book, so we'll see! :)Very happy with the purchase.

Little genius board book
I like how this books helps little one learn about clean up time . It has great pictures for them to look through and the story is easy to follow. Good board book, and very durable.

simple and effective message
It's a nice book to start encouraging your kid to tidy up. I read through it with my almost-2-year-old and we point out the various toys, books, and games on the floor and discuss how Little Tiger needs to pick them up. I particularly like that Little Tiger not only picks up these things, but he also organizes them into separate bins -- one for toys, one for books, one for games, etc.My criticism is on two points. It would have been nice to see a “please” and a “thank you” accompanying mother tiger’s request to pick up. Also, the illustrations of the books are just blatant advertisements of the author’s other books in the series. However, these aren’t fatal flaws, and I would recommend this book overall.

So GREAT, I bought 3 of these books
I have two granddaughters, ages 26.5 months and 25 months old. Originally, I bought two each of about five of the "Hello Genius" books for them. Including "Little Tiger Picks Up."As I pick up the younger of the two toddlers from daycare and watch her till her mom gets home from work, when it is time to pickup for dinner, I simply say "Tiger, time to pick up" and instantly my granddaughter starts helping me pick up.She also gave up her pacifier within a week of her mom reading "No More Pacifier Duck." And isn't as fussy about going to bed after "Go To Bed Goat."I am so impressed with the "Hello Genius" books, I have bought most of the series for both my granddaughters. AND! Just today I bought 15 additional books from the series to give to the day care where my granddaughter attends.

My son loves these books!
My 2 yr old son responds really well too these books. I usually Animate them and ad lib a bit but they’ve been great teaching tools. Plus the seller sent to other free books with the purchase!! Awesome bonus!

Clear direction
This one was really cute and more specific then others we have gotten. It clearly shows the little tiger cleaning up happily after being told to do so just once (sweet jesus, if only..). Easy for my 3 year old to understand what is happening and since we have gotten it he has been more apt to clean up when asked and even on his own.

Ideal para niños pequeños.
A mi hijo le encantó. Compre este para agregarlo a su colección de la misma serie de hello genius. Yo pensé que sería de papel como otros cuentos, pero la portada es de cartón grueso así como sus hojas.

I love these books for my daughter so much!
My daughter is 20 months old and we have every one of the books by this author, they are good quality and cute and teach a good message. She's got great manners thanks so these books and LOVES to brush her teeth and use the potty and say please because of these!

Bonito y educativo.
