How to fix the power drain issue
I bought this stereo for my 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. The product fits perfectly into the opening and matches the preexisting radio size well. Some features mentioned on the website don’t work. The accent lighting for the buttons and nobs do not light up. You cannot upload your own wallpaper as is stated in the manual. The stereo does not shut off when the car is turned off like the older radio would. The screen will not automatically dim or switch to night settings, and needs to be adjusted manually from the settings menu. However, this is a relatively low costing stereo which still works well for bluetooth, Radio, CD’s / DVD’s, Micro SD cards, and Navigation. The Calculator and Calendar are also convenient to have at hand. In conclusion; this stereo isn’t anything to write home about, but it does a good job for the low price tag. If your goal is a small upgrade, this is your stereo. If you are looking for high quality, I would recommend passing on this.Update: I installed a relay which allows the radio to shut off when the car is turned off. The procedure is relatively easy for anyone good with their hands. Background: the OEM Stereo is designed to communicate with the car’s computer; also known as the CAN BUS. This aftermarket Ouku radio does not have the ability to communicate with the computer, thus the switch which normally shuts off the stereo doesn’t function.Solution: You will need to purchase an Automotive Relay 12V 40 Amp Relay (should have four terminals on it). You will need some extra 18 guage wire, a soldering iron and all the other electrical equipment required for this job.1. On the electrical bundle of wires that run from the car harness to the stereo (the adapter wiring that comes with the product) there is a red wire which has a tag attached with an electrical symbol on it. This wire is the switch that turns the radio on and off when the car is shut off. This will need to be cut in the middle, and the two ends stripped about ¼”.2. Two of the wires from the relay will need to be attached to the two ends of the red wire that were severed. The other two ends will need to be attached to a ground, and a device that powers up only when the car is on. I used the cigarette lighter just below the stereo and in front of the shifter because it has both sources. The ground wire will be attached to the ground on the cigarette lighter, and the other wire will connect to the hot wire. Now when the car starts up, the stereo should be able to power up and shut down when the car is turned off. This will save all of your settings and wallpaper that you programed because it’s not cutting power from the stereo. It’s simply switching off the main feed and creating a bypass switch for the one that isn’t working.Below is a link to a video that may be useful. However, the video is for an MK4 and shows the same procedure being done on a monsoon amp. In the MK5’s you will simply need to do this to the stereo and not the amp following the procedure listed above. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYXAExiaRgg

not OEM but just as good
works very well. received on time. looks very good in my 07 rabbit. very clean look. just remember that this is a aftermarket stereo that looks like OEM. Some features of a OEM doesn't work, like the car computer control(car shut off stereo if left on) and the dim lights. yet if you are looking for that factory look without that big price tag. this is it. very happy with

Blew the 10 Amp fuse immediately upon installation. I then replaced the fuse with a 10Amp fuse. Checked that the original factory radio still worked which it did. Then plugged the Ouku radio in and this time it did not blow the fuse, however a smell of electrical fire ensued immediately. The radio at this point was still outside of the dash were no wires or anything could get pinched. Now, we all have problems in life, but this one is made totally inexcusable because of the total lack of installation instructions. This was a common complaint, however being an electronics tech by training I took the chance and decided to order it anyways. Well don't is my advice. In addition I think that Amazon needs to take some responsibility here due to the fact that they let these units go out without directions. They have no idea how inconvenient it is to return something when you live in Canada. This experience has left me very frustrated with Amazon specifically.....the trust is gone! Phil

perfect fit for my Jetta
Great product. Everything worked and was an easy installation. Didn't come with the anything to connect to make the t.v work so I guess you buy it separately. Would love to have any suggestion as to what extra pieces connect to.
