Sleek and quiet
Very sleek, little clock. Exactly what I was hoping for from the pictures. The built-in light is quite dim, which is perfect because it doesn't shock your eyes when they're adjusted to the dark, but you can still read the time perfectly.I can only hear the ticking that others describe if I hold the clock up to my ears, but I live in a big city where there's usually some sort of traffic noise breaking the silence. The alarm in my clock is slightly inaccurate (they warn that this can happen), but easy to compensate for as it's only about 5 minutes ahead. The alarm tone isn't abrasive when it first goes off, but I expect will still wake most people. The snooze is super-easy to hit, being a nice, big, ergonomic button on the top.My only complaint is that the alarm has no concept of AM/PM, so I have to remember to turn the alarm back on before I go to bed rather than after I turn it off in the morning. Normally, this is fine. But I've come home in a... slightly inebriated state and forgotten to turn the alarm on. If there was some kind of switch or setting to compensate for that, this clock would be a 5/5.

beautiful walnut; quiet clock
This is basically a cheap Chinese clock with a surprisingly nice solid walnut surround. It's quiet (I can't hear it ticking), takes an easy AA battery, has a nice snooze function that increases the volume over time, and the snooze button also functions as a light to check the time at night, which is great since I prefer a dark bedroom. This clock lets me turn off my phone at night instead of using my phone as an alarm clock nest to my head (the long-term effects of RF radiation are not good for the body). Minor quibbles:- The alarm on/off switch is SUPER hard to find in the dark, and it's hard to tell whether it is set for ON or OFF.- The typeface use on the face of the clock could be nicer -- the wood surround is so nice but the design of the face looks cheap. A clean modern font with some white space between the letters (and a less prominent manufacturer logo) would be nice.Outside of those two disadvantages, this is the best batter-operated alarm clock that I have found so far.

Cute little clock, but not dependable
I wanted a small nightstand clock and this worked in that capacity. Loved the wooden housing, easily readable face, and auxiliary light being just bright enough to check time in the dark without blinding. It also has a quiet mechanism and an alarm loud enough to hear, without being obnoxiously loud. I used it for a few days, but the first time the alarm did not go off, then twice it lost time by 2 or more hours. Returning the clock was not a problem and Amazon issued me a prompt refund. Were I to be sent a free one, I like this clock enough to give it one more chance!

and it's doing the very basic job that I wanted it to do (looks nice with the woodsy theme of my room
Cute clock, and it's doing the very basic job that I wanted it to do (looks nice with the woodsy theme of my room, works silently, lights up only when I want it to, takes up little space on the nightstand, and has an alarm). That said, it's not a precision instrument. After you buy it, you'll get an email from the seller explaining that your alarm might be early or late by about 10 minutes since the mechanism for setting the alarm isn't that precise (you turn a dial to put the alarm hand where you want it, so a one-minute increment on the clock is a 12-minute increment for the alarm.)

Nice and pretty, but color not as shown.
Very pretty little clock - a big improvement over the little plastic clock it replaced. The alarm is easy to set.The wood is pretty, with a nice grain, but it is NOT the grey color shown, kind of a driftwood. Rather, it is brown. Not worth a return, but if you want the driftwood color, you may be disappointed.I gave it four, rather than five stars because of the color.

Love this clock!
Our battery-operated wall clock in the living room works great for awhile and then loses time. I think this is an issue for many non-corded wall clocks for some reason. I've tried everything to fix it but after buying two of them I decided to wait until I find a corded clock that I love as much as I love the clock we have (even though it doesn't work right!). In the meantime I decided to find a small lighted clock for the side table and after looking at many I landed on this clock. I love that it's work (I got the lighter color) and that it's small but not too small, and that it has a light. We watch tv in the dark at night and now I can just reach over and press the button on the top of this clock to the see the time. I wouldn't want it to glow all of the time, so I'm glad that it doesn't. Sometimes I just pick it up and admire it! I know, kinda crazy, but I really like this little clock a lot.

not reliable
The wood is nice, the button is nice, the design concept overall is nice. However, the maker put the clock in slightly askew, and if the battery is not in JUST RIGHT the clock stops running = no alarm in the morning. I tried inserting the battery again, jiggled it to get it to start, and again any little bump and it stops working. Have to send it back because I don't want to show up to work late again.

An inexpensive, but rich looking (as refinished) quartz electronic mini- alarm.
Contrary to other ratings, I found this clock totally silent. Keeps excellent time, and I like the soft alarm -- I don't like jarringly loud alarms (I am a light sleeper) . The first alarm goes off with a soft intermittent beep. If you use the Snooze button, the next repitition is slightly louder and the tone interval is also different. On the third and fourth repitition it becomes a steady and louder tone --progressively different and louder each time.My only dissatisfaction was that the walnut wood case had a dull and "smokey" appearance not as deep a color and grain as I expected. However before giving it as a gift to my wife, (being a woodworker) I buffed it with #0000 steel wool and added a coat of rich Walnut stain, followed by two hand rubbed coats (with the same steel wool) of semi-gloss polyurethane. This brought out the grain and luster that matched my Walnut bedroom furniture and resolved that issue with only about 15 minutes per application. (This basic clock is also available in a natrual light wood finish, and three other painted colors -- black, white, and dull silver)
