Kindly Note: 1. You'd better remove the IR-blocking filters in front of CCD or CMOS sensor when using IR filters 2. Setting the white balance 3. If you don't want to do any transformation on your device, you can do some post processing after shooting to achieve the IR effect. In which ways the infrared filter will be used? 1.Archaeology, Military,Police,Medical science, and detective work. Infrared filter allow normally invisible stains and modified items visible. 2.Plant vegetation & Landscape photography. It looks dramatically different when photographed in Infrared. 3.Photographic special effects.Infrared filters give the still and video photographer expressive and unusual effects. In what suitable light source should I use the infrared filters? IR filter can block all visible light under related wavelengths and very sensitive to utraviolet rays. 590nm, 600nm and 630nm for Infrared change machine. The rich colors, custom white balance, the original film in general the sky was bright red, partial brown or amber, plant leaves, blue, sky blue saturation after post-processing, the leaves yellow or golden yellow. 680nm for indoor and weak Shadows use. 750nm for indoor and weak light use. 760nm for cloudy outdoor at nightfall and brightness indoor. Great concept. Fotga branded, slight optical quality issues at some rotations
This product is composed of two thin glass polarizing filters with polarization extinguishing from red to mid near-infrared. The rotating dial causes them to be aligned in their polarization axis or anti aligned at 90 degrees. When anti aligned, and very dark to the eye, only the deep portion of the near infrared that is greater than 750nm will transmit through the filter. This will often give more of a black and white deep contrast infrared photo. When aligned, and red to the eye, you will get a much more red filter with color transmission photo that has pale blue foliage and brownish skies. At some rotation angles, I noticed optical distortions in the polarizing extinction. This gives rise to nonuniformity in the image. This is why I dropped a star.In general, it's a great concept, but using lower quality optics. Perhaps my copy has defects. I would pay twice the price for a high quality version. I would also be willing to test out copies more rigorously if the seller would like, including spectral transmission curves. My copy was labeled as Fotga brand, with 77mm threads and ~85mm glass.

Easily adjusts w/o changing focus.
It's really cool for focusing before you shoot. I just dial down the IR and auto focus works! Then I dial it back up to desired setting and start taking test exposures for calculating exposure and WB.

Be ware the front lens cap now needs to be 72mm
The product works great, it's just I did not realize when I bought it that I have to get a 72mm lens cap.

Good one!
Useful filter and good price!

Twist and go
Better than a box of IR filters: twist and go.

A very good Infrared filter - if you have a good lens to go with it
This filter works and it works really well. However, you need a decent quality lens to go with it and a good-ish infrared camera. The above photo was taken with the (Ruili / FOTGA (same Filter sold elsewhere as FOTGA) 82mm adjustable IR filter, on a Fujifilm X-Pro 1 full spectrum IR (infrared convertible) camera, with a Samyang 24mm lens.I did the obvious channel swap and add vibrance to the image. I didn't clean the image, crop or remove dust-spots.Before trying this filter on the samyang lens, I tried this filter on 3 (previous) lenses and the result / outcome was extremely poor. The infrared image quality wasn't sharp, the image was hazy (bluish overcast haze), hotspots and flare all over the image... I tried using UV and CPL filters (from Hoya) to reduce the haze and hotspots - made no difference. These are lenses that will produce high quality images when used for normal photography, but when used for infrared photography with this filter attached, it is a whole different story. For those who are curious - the lenses are: Tamrom 17 - 50mm f2.8, Sigma 10mm - 20mm f3.5 - 4.5 (i think), and Nikon 16mm - 30mm f4. Worth noting that these are really good lenses in their own right and will take fantastic pictures when used for normal photography. But not great lenses for infrared - as per my experience. For a while I thought it was this IR filter that is of inferior quality - but when I tried it with the samyang lens, I was amazed !! I took a number of beautiful infrared photos earlier today in mid afternoon sun. No flare, no ghost, no haze, no hotspot, no bluish overcast.(FYI: I am not affiliated in any way, shape or form with this product, fujifilm or samyang.) I am leaving this review in hope that someone else may find it useful.I hope this helps.

Surprisingly good
Bought for use on a camera that's had the full IR+UV Spectrum Mod done to it. Bought for the sole purpose of its Various range of NM versus having to keep changing different strength IR filters & to that ends it's Surprisingly good. It's basically like having about 4 different strengths of IR filters in 1. Can't complain about its build quality as it seems pretty robust to me with the Dial performing well too spinning freely with a little bit of friction but not just turning loosely as to be a problem. I have only 1 negative thing to say about it but it's nit picking considering its cheap price & it's this ; I wish the filter had a numbered dial of where the IR started at its lowest setting up to its highest setting so you could set its IR Strength just by looking at the dial numbers? Though because of its cheap price TBH this is really a function I'm happy to do without in the end.Great Multi IR Filter at a very very cheap price ;)

Looks OK
Should do the job OK, but as another reviewer pointed out it is really annoying that the lens-cap diameter is larger than the filter screw size. Some kind of explanation that this is the case at point of sale and an indication of by how much the diameters vary ought to be given.I ordered a 35mm filter but the lens-cap is greater, probably 38mm, difficult to tell as it is not stamped and some guesswork is needed. Annoying when I had already ordered a 35mm cap expecting it to fit.

Heavy patterning
Received one of these this afternoon, and sent it straight back. Fitted it to an Olympus OMD EM5, converted to full spectrum IR. On all settings it produces heavy edge patterning, which moves around as you rotate the filter. Also note, a 58mm filter will not accept a 58mm lens cap. Not worth the money or the hassle. Stick to fixed nm filters.

Just the job
It is funny looking in the viewfinder and seeing the image but this is just what thew 530 end does.Great buy
